One of the big selling points of Iron Man 3, other than Ben Kingsley's crazy and wonderful Mandarin voice, was the sheer volume of Iron Man armors that appeared in the film. There were a ton. Considering the likely weight of the armor, probably more than a ton. But not every armor designed by artist Josh Nizzi was used in the movie, and he was kind enough to share some of his unused designs, including one that I can only call the Metal Gear Solid/Metroid armor.

Even with 42+ armors battling onscreen at once in Iron Man 3, one of the film's most engaging scenes actually sees a mostly unsuited Tony Stark infiltrate The Mandarin's HQ using homespun gadgetry and spy-like cunning (not unlike a reverse Kevin McCallister from Home Alone). Playing off the excitement of the Iron escapade, Hot Toys has announced its new Tony Stark "Mandarin Mansion Assault Version" 1/6 scale collectible figure, which bears the battered likeness of actor Robert Downy Jr., a light-up chest simulating Stark's Arc Reactor, and comes packed with a backpack full of all the gizmos scene in the film.
Two weeks after announcing that a new "one-shot" short film starring Agent Peggy Carter from Captain America: The First Avenger would be accompanying the new Iron Man 3 Blu-ray set, Marvel has released the first clip, which features actress Hayley Atwell as the title character making short work of some impolite thugs. Catch it after the jump
A few of Hot Toys' recently teased 1/6 scale superhero figures made their way to a full display this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con International. Tony Stark's Iron Man 3 Mark 33 and 38 (a.k.a. "Igor") suits were standing tall in armory-style displays and Batman '66 Batman and Robin were housed inside a glass box with their classic Batmobile. All of the toys are presumably prototypes, so fans can expect a few minor changes before they arrive at retail - especially since none of them have proper pricing info or release dates set in stone just yet. Fans shouldn't let that stand in the way of gawking at the detail and spot-on actor likeness on each figure, though. Get a close look at some of Hot Toys' 1/6 scale figures displayed at SDCC after the cut.

Spoiler alert for a two-year-old movie and 50-year-old comic: Captain America got preserved in ice near the end of World War II and revived decades later. In comics, we've seen a lot of what happened to the characters Steve Rogers left behind in the 1940s, but what about the movie version Captain America: The First Avenger? Marvel will answer that question, at least in part, with a new short film about actress Hayley Atwell's Agent Peggy Carter -- a "one-shot" if you will -- that will premiere at Comic-Con International next week and be included in the new Iron Man 3 Blu-Ray.
