There were a lot of Captain America: Civil War fans who were waiting for another full trailer after the Super Bowl 50 commercial. That trailer has yet to arrive, but Empire Magazine has just debuted the cover for their Captain America: Civil War issue, which features a pretty rad new image of Cap and Iron Man going face-to-face...

We all remember Batkid, aka Miles Scott, the young boy suffering from cancer who got to fulfill his dream of being Batman for a day thanks to the help of the city of San Francisco and the Make-A-Wish foundation. The charitable organization has helped to make another ailing kid's superhero dreams come true, transforming nine-year-old Iron Man fan Domenic Pace into Iron Boy — and he's even been endorsed by Robert Downey Jr. himself.

Act Out Your Wildest Civil War Fantasies With Hasbro's New Roleplay Gear
Well, this year is the year Marvel Legends becomes the all-encompassing elite collectors line for Hasbro. After being home to the 6" adult collector figures, then adding in the 3.75" figures, Hasbro announced earlier today a 12" scale would be under the Legends umbrella, too. The company isn't stopping there. While Hasbro has been making roleplay toys for kids for the past few years, including weapons and masks all with a decidedly childlike bent, there hasn't been much for those of us with hands big enough to hold a basketball. This fall, the Marvel Legends line will expand to take care of that. Coming sometime during Q4 this year, Marvel Legends' roleplay gear will finally give the big kids exactly what we've always wanted: replica Captain America shields and Iron Man helmets. There have been others, there's no denying that. Many companies have tried to fill that void, but have either been relatively cheap alternatives or so expensive, you barely want to breathe on it, let alone wear it. While the jury is still out on how well-made Hasbro's Marvel Legends accessories will be, they certainly do look up to snuff in these first teaser images.

If you thought the Marvel Legends line was going to stick to the 6" and 3.75" formats forever, you probably weren't alone in that thinking. Both scales of the Marvel Legends line have been doing well, and cover pretty much all the bases for highly-detailed and articulated mass market action figures. But Hasbro has bigger things in mind for the Marvel Legends, and ahead of Toy Fair the company announced a new 12" scale for the Legends banner. Hold onto your butts. This fall, Hasbro will release the first 12" figures in the Legends line, with iO9 announcing Captain America and Iron Man as the first characters to make the leap to the larger scale. Currently the only way to get figures of this size from Hasbro is in the Titan Hero series, which feature the familiar faces of the Marvel Universe, though with simplified designs and just five points of articulation. There's nothing wrong with the Titan line, as its $9.99 price point makes it a good budget line for kids. The new 12" Marvel Legends will be a bit pricier ($50 each), but pack in a lot more detail, articulation and accessories.

Don't Be Sad, Black Widow, Your Civil War Mopeez Plush is Coming Soon
Most of Funko's collectibles are all about being cute. Mopeez however rely on a bit of schadenfreude. They're sad little versions of your favorite characters, but you're supposed to get enjoyment from how adorably disappointed they are over whatever it is little stuffed characters get upset about. We've seen some Marvel and DC Mopeez before, but this next batch will actually add two of the most sought after characters to the fold with the additions of Black Widow and Black Panther. Now the upcoming Captain America: Civil War series does include Vision and Crossbones, for reasons that will likely never make sense to me. Vision I sort of get. He's an okay guy, even if they did make him a little too OP in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Crossbones' movie costume does have a certain appeal, it's still a weird character to make a plush toy for given his roots. Also, there's no better character in this movie to fill out the box? Does anyone care about Bucky Barnes as much as Steve Rogers?

There's a new Marvel movie on the way, so that means Medicom's timing for this all-new MAFEX Iron Man is on point. Well it would be if this Iron Man were based on the upcoming Captain America: Civil War incarnation. Instead, the company is just slightly behind the times with this Avengers: Age of Ultron MK XLV armor. Unlike the import competition, Medicom's decided to focus on the last iteration of Iron Man's armor, but given how few figures actually captured this suit from the final half of Age of Ultron, it's not all that disappointing. The MK XLV armor is one of the best-looking suits from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and affordable versions of this suit have been few and far between. While Hot Toys has had the market cornered on the high-end spectrum, only Figuarts has really devoted any attention to the AOU Iron Man in 1/12 scale. Medicom might be playing a bit of catch up with this release, but it might be the better of the two import options if the final release ends up looking as nice as this prototype.

Do you like Iron Man\? I like Iron Man. He's a cool guy and doesn't seem afraid of anything. Especially in the movies. That must be why Hot Toys has committed so much of its bandwidth to continually pumping out new Iron Man figures with such regularity. That and the fact that all of the Iron Man Hot Toys figures sell like pancakes at an all you can eat pancake festival. While some have merely been repaints of identical builds, the upcoming MK XV armor from Iron Man 3 looks unlike anything we've seen from the company before.

With the arrival of Captain America: Civil War comes a new wave of tie-in action figures, and Hasbro is making clear its looking to make right with all the Black Widow fans. While there were a few figures of the Soviet spy released in conjunction with Avengers: Age of Ultron, Black Widow was in high demand and short supply. Though we've yet to see just what Hasbro's full range of plans for Civil War include, the first sampling revealed ahead of Toy Fair offers a glimpse at a world where Black Widow is no longer lingering in the shadows. More than a dozen new figures were revealed by Hasbro today (via IGN), including the first ever Black Widow Titan Hero figure. The 12" figure line has predominantly been filled with male characters across Hasbro's Avengers, Spider-Man and Star Wars collections. You can technically count Captain Phasma as the first female to make that leap, but given her lack of defining features, the upcoming Rey 12" unveiled at NYCC last fall (and due this spring) is the one opening new opportunities for Marvel's scarlet-haired secret agent. Given that both have been the center of their own social media campaigns advocating for more female figures, that seems appropriate.

There's a new Marvel movie on the horizon, and with that will come a wealth of new action figures based on the successful cinematic universe. Tamashii Nations' SH Figuarts line has been home to a number of the Avengers over the years, but the new Captain America: Civil War line will mark the first time we'll be seeing any of the female heroes join the cast. We've gotten a few Captain Americas and Iron Mans, and a Thor, Hulk and Hulkbuster to boot, but so far Tamashii has been a little light on the ladies. Black Widow was actually teased and shown off in prototype form for the Age of Ultron set (as was Hawkeye), but here we are with no Black Widow (or Hawkeye) to show for it. Hopefully that changes with the upcoming Civil War line, which Tamashii is already hyping to include not just Black Widow, but also Agent 13 (Sharon Carter), as well as Black Panther, Hawkeye, Falcon, Vision, War Machine and Winter Soldier. Yeah, Iron Man and Captain America will be part of the new series, too, but haven't we seen enough of them? Let's celebrate all the these new guys and girls finally joining the fight.

We're 121 days away from Captain America: Civil War hitting theaters, and that seems like the perfect time for Funko to reveal its first line of figures from the upcoming film. Already we've seen Hot Toys and Lego hint at respective plans for toys based on the third Captain America film, and with Funko now diving in, that leaves just a few stragglers (including Hasbro) to show us what to expect on the toy front from the Marvel film that will divide it's two biggest stars. Typically, Funko just reveals its own proprietary mass market figures in the Pop line, but this time the vinyl-maker has also given a glimpse into the variants we'll be able to find, and which retailers will be home to those alternate looks. Curiously enough, the biggest characters in the film wound up with the fewest versions. At least all three of the major female leads are all present and accounted for this time.
