It looks like Beth of the Bravest Warriors may just prove herself the most relatable member of the team in next week's Boom! Studios issue. You see, in Bravest Warriors #15, the heroine comes across a box of her childhood toys. At first she contemplates cleaning house by donating them (a fine idea!), but then? She reminds herself why action figures perhaps the greatest technical/spiritual achievement in the history of humankind. Ryan Pequin makes it all clear in his "Childish Things" short by Whitney Cogar, followed by a "Food Court" tale by Coleman Engle and a "Danny Divided" story by Tessa Stone. Boom! has provided us with a first look at the issue, with fives full pages of Pequin's short. Click through and prepare to hold your action figures tight.

Mad Rupert's Regular Show romp continues this Wednesday, December 11, with Regular Show: Skips #2 and things are about to get even more hectic for the book's immortal star. As hard as it is to watch the usually unflappable Skips succumb to stress, his crew of Mordecai, Rigby, Benson, Muscle Man, Pops and Hi-Five Ghost are going to be glad he's joined them on vacation as the strangeness plaguing their trip becomes more apparent. Or will they even be aware of his heroism? It's hard to say when Skips encounters a problem he can't say "I've seen this before" about.
The team that brought fans Adventure Time Original Graphic Novel Vol. 1 Playing With Fire is back with an all new tale that pits the royalty of Ooo against the most intense challenges of all: Video games from BMO's binary brain. This Wednesday writer Danielle Corsetto and artist Zack Sterling's Adventure Time Original Graphic Novel Vol. 2 Pixel Princesses from Boom! Studios arrives in comic shops, delivering 160 pages of black and white action as partying princesses are forced to work together if they hope to survive offending Finn and Jake's offended video game console/roommate. How did the team of Corsetto and Sterling work to put the princesses in just the right amount of peril on their second straight AT OGN team-up? ComicsAlliance got in touch with the duo to find out.
It's not often that you get a piece of comics news that's completely unsurprising and completely welcome at the same time, but that's exactly what we got this week when Boom! Studios announced that their Kaboom imprint will be publishing a comic book version of Natasha Allegri's Bee and Puppycat. The official announcement about Bee and Puppycat joining its fellow Frederator shows, Adventure Time and Bravest Warriors, even included the phrase "Of course we're doing the comic."
But like I said, it's every bit as welcome as it is expected, so to get a little insight on where Bee and Puppycat is coming from, we asked a few questions to Allegri, who took a moment out of her busy schedule to tell us about her influences, the tone of the show, and her love of Garfield.
With Rebecca Sugar's new animated series Steven Universe set to debut on Cartoon Network on November 4th (and a free downloadable preview currently online), Boom! Studios has officially announced its accompanying ongoing comic book series. Starring a happy-go-lucky young boy on a team of much more mature cosmic heroines, the new series follows Steven as he learns to tap his full potential as a Crystal Gem... by eating ice cream and administering sick burns, among other things. A special four-page preview of his comic adventures written by Sugar, penciled by Lamar Abrams, inked by Danny Hynes, and colored and lettered by Jeremy Sorese will debut tomorrow in the pages of Adventure Time: 2013 Spoooktacular #1. The official regular creative team for Steven Universe #1 hasn't been announced just yet, but should manifest closer to the issue's debut in early 2014. Check out our exclusive first look at the preview from Boom!, after the jump.
With just a week left until Halloween, Boom! Studios has provided us with one last look at next Wednesday's Adventure Time: 2013 Spoooktacular #1. This time around it's a preview of Jones Wiedle's "Costume Party!" contribution, which sees Ice King become the life of a party at Finn and Jake's house that he may actually be crashing.
Pen Ward's surprisingly well-adjusted teens from the year 3085 look like they'll be cutting loose on October 23 in Bravest Warriors #13. Writer Eric M. Esquivel, artist Mike Holmes, colorist Lisa Moore, and letterer Steve Wands pit the team against the fierce "Periodic Table of Evil" on page one, and don't let up from there with a plot that involves Danny experimenting with insect poison during a perilous vision quest. You know, the usual kind of deal. Boom! Studios has provided CA with a first look at the latest assembly of adventure, which you can click through to preview in full.
We were intrigued by the entire lineup of talent when Boom! Studios announced its Adventure Time: 2013 Spoooktacular #1 back in July, but given his stints on the appropriately spooky Seven Soldiers: Klarion the Witch Boy, Hellblazer, Xombi, Shade and other titles, we were especially curious to see how Frazer Irving would play in the Land of Ooo. Thanks to a three-page first look from Boom! fans can finally scope out an unlettered preview of the artist's team up with writer Bryce Carlson, which just so happens to involve mustaches. Lots of mustaches.
This January Boom! Studio is promising a comic where "The 'Freaky Friday' trope is turned on its head with an Ooo-sized twist!" with the release of Adventure Time Flip Side #1, the first in body-swapping miniseries written by the Eisner Award-winning Bandette team of Paul Tobin and Colleen Coover. Illustrating interiors is Wook Jin Clark, the upcoming author of the tokusatsu-tinged Megagogo at Oni Press, with Ellen Alsop on Cover B, and more cover artists to be announced. The book's complete plot is still a relative mystery, but it should be interesting to see how Boom!'s clues pan out if they do indeed result in AT characters switching forms. Boom! has provided CA with a first-look at Alsop's cover for the upcoming mini, which you can scope out past the cut.
The shift from summer to fall brings with it scarves, hoodies, pumpkin spice... everything and, for Boom! Studios, special comic book covers and prints. Yes, New York Comic Con 2013 is nearly upon us, and Boom! is prepared with a lineup of exclusives that will be available at Booth 1344 come October 10-13. In anticipation, Boom! has given ComicsAlliance a first-look at all of its NYCC Adventure Time, Sons of Anarchy, Polarity, Day Men and The Midas Flesh offerings. Click through for a full look at the entire lineup of Boom!, Kaboom! and new Boom! Box items.
