We already knew Lego Marvel's Avengers would have the biggest roster of any Lego game developed by TT Games to date, but we still don't know the exact character list. During Gamescom this week, TT revealed a few of these new cast members with in-game models for the first time, giving us a better idea of who and what to expect. While your standard Avengers have all but been confirmed (at least as far as the movie roster is concerned), there's a whole lot of Marvel heroes and villains that have yet to have their shot at Lego fame and glory. During San Diego Comic-Con, TT actually teased a few of these characters, including Kamala "Ms. Marvel" Khan and the Jane Foster Thor, but this is the first time we've seen Squirrel Girl and the Young Avengers' Speed. Most importantly, Ms. Marvel's Lego-fied version actually looks like Kamala Khan. After the America Chavez incident, it's good to see TT Games is actually on point with its representation of the character, and fans won't have to cry out in hopes of having Ms. Khan recolored.

Lego Dimensions Trailer: Which Batman is the Batman?
Upcoming collectible toy video game Lego Dimensions has already promised a wealth of crossover potential with the likes of Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle starring alongside each other in an adventure that spans (almost) all of Lego's properties. While we've been focused on characters from Back to the Future, Scooby-Doo and Portal joining the fray, we almost forgot about the idea that many of these characters exist in different forms within the Lego Universe already thanks to the Lego Movie. TT Games hasn't forgotten though. In the latest trailer for the developer's new flagship Lego title, we get to see a multitude of familiar faces from all ranges of Lego lines, but it's the chance meeting of DC's Batman and Wyldstyle's former flame, Batman, that gives us the clearest idea of what to expect from the upcoming action game. The lines between realities have been blurred beyond recognition, and now Batman and Batman will have to figure out which Batman is the Batman-est Batman to don the cape and cowl.

The LEGO Movie is a project that consists entirely of inspired ideas, but casting the gravelly-voiced Will Arnett as Batman is probably in the top five. With the character’s spin-off in the works, the inspired casting continues! It seems that the soft-spoken Michael Cera is set voice Robin in LEGO Batman.

Lego Reveals New 'Batman vs Superman' Batmobile Set
Though Lego doing building sets based around the upcoming Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice was an eventuality (and has been teased previously), we didn't know what kind of plans the company had in mind. Given Lego's history of providing a variety of sets in all shapes and sizes for the likes of its DC Super Heroes line, as well as recent developments with its Marve Super Heroes line (with regard to the movie-based sets), it seemed like anything was possible. Batcave? Maybe. Wonder Woman and Aquaman versus Lex Luthor? Sure, why not. Of course, the obvious answer was there the whole time. Thanks to the beacon of geek news that is the Wall Street Journal, we have our first official look at Lego's initial BvS:DoJ set: the Batmobile. Though the set will be available for viewing at San Diego Comic-Con next week, Lego will not have the Batmobile available for sale. The 306 piece set won't be purchasable until New Year's Day 2016.

Fan-Built Lego Scrooge McDuck Money Bin Is Amazing
I'm a person who loves Scrooge McDuck, who ranks in at #4 on ComicsAlliance's official canonical list of the greatest comic book characters of all time, and I'm someone who has a huge amount of affection for Lego, the single greatest construction toy to ever come out of Denmark. Dennis Steppe, however, has put my passion for both of these things to shame with his construction of one of the coolest fan-built LEGO creations ever: A massive, incredibly detailed recreation of Uncle Scrooge's money bin.

Thanks to the success of Skylanders and Disney Infinity, and also a little ol' thing called amiibo, the NFC figure craze can officially move into the sustainable trend category. These collectible figure-based games are no longer just a hot trend, they are a legitimate force to be reckoned with at retail. Adding more fuel to the fire this fall will be Lego Dimensions, the first NFC game to actually require your to build your adventures before you can play them.

Lego Pays Homage to Superman's Debut in New SDCC Exclusive Set
The summer of San Diego Comic-Con exclusive announcements continues ahead of this year's show with another impressive effort from Lego. After already announcing a few Star Wars sets and a Marvel exclusive or two for SDCC, Lego finally unveiled a DC Comics selection for the big event. Commemorating the first appearance of Superman, the Lego DC Super Heroes Action Comics set will be available for the first time in a limited quantity at SDCC 15. The exclusive was unveiled on Collider, as were the first details of how much it'll cost, and how incredibly arduous the process will be in trying to obtain one for yourself. The set comes in at a surprising 145 pieces, which seems like a lot until you look at just how many bricks are being used in the car alone. It's actually a very nice recreation of Joe Shuster's original cover, minus the panicked man in the corner, the guy Superman almost crushes beneath the car, and the cowardly criminal already speeding off into the sunset.

Lego Teases 'Batman vs Superman' Sets for 2016
Despite the numerous Lego-fied versions of the Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer that clogged YouTube just days after Batfleck questioned the Man of Steel's hemorrhaging capabilities, there's been little word from Lego itself about potential sets based on Warner Bros. 2016 tentpole film. There was little doubt the block maker would release tie-in sets based on the success of its DC Super Heroes line, as well as the fact that Man of Steel got three sets of its own a few years back. However, today, the Lego Group confirmed that there would indeed be BvS:DoJ collectibles coming in 2016. Batman's starred in his fair share of Lego sets. Actually, he's been in pretty much every single DC set Lego has produced since 1949, as well as numerous video games and movies. Lego loves Batman. Superman has been less of a favorite (last) son for Lego, but he's also been abundantly present in the Lego catalog in recent years. Getting the two of them in a set together isn't the most amazing news, but that these sets will be based on the movie does bode well for our chances of seeing more Justice Leaguers like Wonder Woman and Aquaman as Lego characters.

In case you forgot, there's a Lego Marvel video game still on the docket this year. That's on top of Lego Jurassic World, Lego Worlds and Lego Dimensions, all of which are either currently available or coming very, very soon. Though we haven't had a Lego Marvel game proper since Lego Marvel Super Heroes in 2013, we have had one of the biggest Marvel movies of all time release this year. Guess that makes it perfect timing for a new adventure in the Lego Marvel world. The first full trailer for Lego Marvel's Avengers arrived today, just ahead of its gameplay debut at E3 2015. Like Lego Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings before it, Lego Avengers will combine the cinematic heroics of Marvel's most well-known team of heroes into one game disc. While it is a bit of a shame we won't have quite as big a look into the Lego Marvel U as we did with the previous game, this trailer does bring back fond feelings for Lego Hulk.

Earlier this year, Lego revealed its impressive Marvel Super Hero SHIELD Helicarrier set to the world at Toy Fair. The 2,996 pieces combine to form a mammoth 31"x17"x11" scaled replica of the vehicle du jour for Marvel's elite global security organization. Having recently rekindled my love of Lego with the Assault on Avengers Tower set, I convinced my wife that the SHIELD Helicarrier would be the perfect weekend activity for the two of us to share.
