In its first year, Magnetic Press made quite a dent, earning two Eisner nominations for Tony Sandoval’s Doomboy and Dave Dorman’s Wasted Lands Omnibus. Tim Seeley and Logan Faerber Focus On Blade’s Daughter In New Series

blade-feat

You know Blade, right? He's the Daywalker, a vampire hunter with some vampiric abilities of his own. Grew up in a brothel. Hunted Dracula. Hung out with Dr. Strange a lot. Well, rethink all that, because Marvel has announced a new series at San Diego Comic-Con from writer Tim Seeley and artist Logan Faerber, which presents Eric Brooks in a whole new way: through his daughter.

That's right, Blade has a daughter, and she'll be a big part of the focus of the new series, as she and her dad will apparently go on some macabre adventures together.

Best Art Ever (This Week): Tintin, Hardware, Grand Budapest Hotel, Michonne and More

Untitled-1

We make a regular practice at ComicsAlliance of spotlighting particular artists or specific bodies of work, as well as the special qualities of comic book storytelling, but because cartoonists, illustrators and their fans share countless numbers of great pinups, fan art and other illustrations on sites like Flickr, Tumblr, DeviantArt and seemingly infinite art blogs that we’ve created Best Art Ever (This Week), a weekly depository for just some of the pieces of especially compelling artwork that we come across in our regular travels across the Web. Some of it’s new, some of it’s old, some of it’s created by working professionals, some of it’s created by future stars, some of it’s created by talented fans, and some of it’s endearingly silly. All of it is awesome.

Susan Strong Smashes In ‘Adventure Time’ #11 Backup [Preview]

adventuretime11capreview-main

If Susan Strong turns your heart on, Zack Giallongo's Adventure Time #11 backup will likely prove worth the issue's physical/digital cover price alone. Joining the main story by Ryan North, Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb, Giallongo's "The Meaning of Bravery" turns the book's attention on the super buff subterranean maybe-human known as Susan as her naivety about the wider world gets exploited by a sinister force. There's a good heart ins

Logan Faerber Draws Heroes, Robots, Warriors and Vampires Until the Break of Dawn [Art]

Logan Faerber's art drips and stretches with a shocking amount of finesse. It's easy to get carried away with exaggerated proportions, and many artists do; but Faerber sets himself apart with his vivid, looney interpretations of Harry Potter and Thor
