Ranger Station Episode 40: Doomsday, Part 2
With 800 episodes over the course of 22 years, the Power Rangers television show is arguably the single most successful live-action superhero franchise of all time, and certainly one of the strangest. Adapted from Japan's long-running Super Sentai series, created by manga legend Shotaro Ishinomori, the Power Rangers combined the giant robots and monsters of their Japanese counterpart with a completely different set of secret identities and problems, and became a pop cultural phenomenon. That's why we're looking back with an in-depth guide to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, including its source material, Kyuoryu Sentai Zyuranger, in ComicsAlliance's Ranger Station! This week, the Zyurangers face their most important battle as the fate of the world hangs in the balance, but for the Power Rangers... it's just Tuesday.

If You Love 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles', Try These Comics Next
The new blockbuster Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film is in cinemas now, and surprisingly it patches the flaws from its predecessor and ramps up the ridiculousness in a way that makes it an enjoyable family superhero film for the summer. The Turtles have been mainstays of film, TV and video games for decades, but their origins go way back to the black and white independent comics boom of the '80s. If you’re a fan of Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles, odds are you’re already keeping up with IDW’s excellent ground-up re-imagining of the franchise, but if you want more in that vein, we’ve selected five of the best independent, creator-owned, or alternative licensed comics that live up to the spirit of Turtle Power!

Kimberly's Evolution: Kelly Thompson On 'Power Rangers: Pink'
This week saw the release of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Pink #1, and for fans of America's greatest tokusatsu heroes, it might just be the most unexpected story of the year. Rather than focusing on her time as a Power Ranger in Angel Grove, Kelly Thompson, Brenden Fletcher, Daniele Di Nicuolo and Sarah Stern's series picks up when Kimberly is retired from active duty and stumbles across a plot that threatens her family --- and an entire city in France. To find out more, I talked to Thompson about the choice to show readers an era of Kimberly's life that we've never seen, the exploration of her relationships with the other rangers, and the new costume that Kimberly's sporting in the series.

Review: The Power of Pink in New 'Power Rangers' Solo Spinoff
There are few comic series that feel quite as tailored to my interests as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Pink. A brand new series out today, the comic is a collaboration between two of my favorite comic writers, Brenden Fletcher and Kelly Thompson, writing for one of the female leads from one of my favorite TV shows growing up. When Boom Studios announced the series earlier this year, I am instantly sold simply on that information alone. But Fletcher and Thompson’s work on issue one, with artist Daniele Di Nicuolo, colorist Sarah Stern, and letterer Ed Dukeshire, goes beyond just nostalgic fare for the Mighty Morphin fan.
