The Top Five Generation One Pokemon
This week, as Pokémon Alpha Sapphire continues to occupy most of Chris's time, he's turned his attention all the way back to 1998 to bring you the five best first-generation Pokémon. That's right, the stars of Red and Blue are taking center stage here as he pares down the original 151 to a handful of the best of the best -- and if you don't already know who's clocking in at #1, we'll give you a hint: It's Bulbasaur.

You would think that with the announcement of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the updated remakes of the Generation III titles, would've been enough big news about Pokémon for this year, but you, my friends, would be wrong. Today, it was revealed that Namco Bandai, the creators of the Tekken fighting games, were hard at work on Pokken Tournament, a new arcade style fighting game using theTekken engine, starring Pokémon.

Boom! Studios Announces Becky And Frank's 'Capture Creatures'
It is a matter of public record that I love Pokémon in all its various forms, to the point where my biggest problem is that even with 700 of them in the official games, there just aren't enough. That's why I really love Becky Dreistadt and Frank Gibson's Capture Creatures, which started on the web as a project for the team behind Tiny Kitten Teeth to design their own pocket monsters, complete with evolutions. Now, with 143 entries in their Creaturedex and a successful Kickstarter-funded art book under the creators' belts, Boom! Studios has announced an ongoing series based on Capture Creatures, where Gibson and Dreistadt will take their creations from the designs and stats of the website to a brand new story.

Here is a fun fact about your old pal Chris Sims: I am never going to get tired of looking at pictures of Sailor Moon. I mean, it's been like 17 years since I first saw it and I keep finding the Sailor Senshi to be absolutely delightful, so I doubt that it's going to stop any time in the forseeable future. Fortunately for me, there are fantastic artists like Missy Pena out there doing their best to make sure that there's genuinely great art out there for everyone to see. She has an amazing take on not just Sailor Moon, but other stuff that I love too, like Pokémon, The Legend of Korra and more! Check out some favorites below!

If our weekly Ask Chris column isn't enough of definitive comic book (and pro wrestling) opinions for you, good news: ComicsAlliance is proud to present Here's The Thing, a series of videos where you can join our own extremely opinionated senior writer, Chris Sims, as he dives into comics history to explain why you're wrong and he's right. This week, Chris is joined by special guest Bulbasaur for a chat aboutPokémon, fan theories, "headcanon" and why so much of it is focused on this one game for tiny children.
