Mad Rupert's Regular Show romp continues this Wednesday, December 11, with Regular Show: Skips #2 and things are about to get even more hectic for the book's immortal star. As hard as it is to watch the usually unflappable Skips succumb to stress, his crew of Mordecai, Rigby, Benson, Muscle Man, Pops and Hi-Five Ghost are going to be glad he's joined them on vacation as the strangeness plaguing their trip becomes more apparent. Or will they even be aware of his heroism? It's hard to say when Skips encounters a problem he can't say "I've seen this before" about.

regularshowskips1_main

Regular Show's super strong immortal sage (who just so happens to be voiced by Mark Hamill) is about to step into the comic book spotlight. This November Boom! Studios will roll out Regular Show: Skips #1, written and illustrated by Mad Rupert (Saskana, Adventure Time). Set to show the RS world from Skips' point of view, the story sees Pops reward Mordecai, Rigby and the rest of the crew with a mini-vacation for all their hard work at the park. Thanks to the antics of his coworkers, though, Skips probably won't quite get the rest and relaxation he deserves for bailing his buds out of trouble time and time again. ComicsAlliance got in touch with Rupert to learn more about what readers can expect in the issue, how the artist got into Regular Show, and just how much she loves pugs.

RegularShow_03_preview-main

Taking a breather between issues by the regular, well, Regular Show creative team of KC Green and Allison Strejlau, next Wednesday's Regular Show #3 comes packed with three standalone tales by three distinct creative teams. Zack Smith and Brad McGinty have teamed for "Sombrero World," a story that sees Mordecai and Rigby work to escape being tourist trapped by an obnoxious roadside destination. Joining their tale is Kevin Church, Brooke Allen and Whitney Cogar's "Arm Skills," along with Brandon Snider and JJ Harrison's "Hot Tub." Publisher Boom! Studios has provided CA with a first-look at the issue -- specifically pages from "Sombrero World -- which you can sample past the jump.

Boom! Studios Unveils A Hand-Printed ‘Regular Show’ Comic For San Diego And We Need Them In Our Lives [Video]

Reg01

I'm not usually a person who gets excited about all the exclusives at San Diego's Comic-Con International, but with their exclusive Regular Show book, Boom! Studios has cut through even my crystallized layer of cynicism to trigger that immediate "I need that in my life" reaction.

Written and drawn by artist Jon Chad, who brought you last year's similar Adventure Time exclusive, Regular Show: The Machine is a hand-assembled, screen-printed comic that's limited to 500 copies. And instead of reading like your standard mini, this one folds out.

Mordecai And Rigby Pull An All-Nighter In ‘Regular Show’ #2 [Preview]

One of my favorite things about Regular Show -- and folks, I have a lot of favorite things about Regular Show -- is the way it uses common elements of my life to form the foundation of its weird magical realism stories. Video games, the best VHS tape in the world, that's the stuff I can identify with.

This year's San Diego Comic-Con International is almost upon us, and that means it's time once again for that harrowing social experiment where retailers put a limited number of items in a gigantic room with 150,000 fans and sit back to watch the chaos. It's basically the kind of thing that the Joker does, but on the upside, somebody's going to walk away with some pretty cool stuff.
