Despite lacking any official photography of Jessica Jones, Marvel and Netflix keep right on truckin’ with Luke Cage pre-production. Latest to enter the Hero-for-Hire’s world is none other than Sons of Anarchy vet Theo Rossi as a Marvel gangster nemesis, while reports also confirm Rosario Dawson to reprise her Daredevil role as Claire Temple.
More and more details of Marvel’s Netflix Jessica Jones have been trickling out over the last few days, and while we strangely lack any actual photos, visuals are starting to shape up. Not only has the second Netflix Defender gained an official new logo, but so too have producers confirmed an appearance from Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple.
If you’ve been curious as to why Rosario Dawson’s character on Netflix’s Daredevil series is named Claire Temple instead of Linda Carter (aka Night Nurse), we may finally have an answer. Daredevil Season 1 showrunner Steven DeKnight appeared at a Television Critics Association panel today, where he revealed the reason why Dawson’s character underwent a name change.
Marvel’s Netflix Daredevil left the future of Rosario Dawson’s Night Nurse character Claire Temple somewhat open-ended, but with Matt Murdock confirmed for a second season, Dawson is officially on board as well. Plus … what other Defenders series might the character pop up in?
Netflix's 'Daredevil' is the 'Batman Begins' 'Arrow' wishes it could be, and exactly the bone-crunching street level drama Marvel needed to complete its cinematic superhero universe. Our early review, before all 13 episodes hit streaming on April 10!
Marvel’s Netflix Daredevil dropped some major teasers in its last motion poster, but with the premiere of all 13 episodes just over a week away, it’s time for a closer look at the Hell’s Kitchen cast. What new secrets are hiding in the full set of character posters for Marvel’s Daredevil?
The Netflix Daredevil panel took place at New York Comic-Con on Saturday evening, and the biggest revelation is that Rosario Dawson is not playing any of the characters anyone guessed she might be playing. In fact she's playing a relatively obscure supporting character from the Luke Cage comics of the 1970s, Claire Temple.
Those lucky enough to attend the panel were treated to a preview clip that showed Temple, a nurse, tending to a wounded Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). Other clips showed Daredevil rescuing Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) from a mugger, Vincent D'Onofrio as the Kingpin, and first glimpse inside the law offices of Nelson & Murdock. Following the panel, Marvel released images showing the first official glimpses of Daredevil, both in an early costume and in his civilian identity.
As we reported on ComicsAlliance last week, Rosario Dawson has joined the cast of the Netflix Daredevil TV show in a guest role -- but Marvel won't say who she's playing. Bleeding Cool guessed Elektra. Our own Matt D. Wilson suggested Milla Donovan. Multiversity Comics put their money on Maya Lopez. Speculation is rife, and nobody really knows anything.
The only clues we have to go on are Dawson herself -- a New Yorker in her mid-30s with Afro-Caribbean roots -- and a brief description of her role; "a dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city."
