Beth Figures Action Into Her Life In ‘Bravest Warriors’ #15 [Preview]

Bravest Warriors 15 comic book preview
Boom! Studios

It looks like Beth of the Bravest Warriors may just prove herself the most relatable member of the team in next week's Boom! Studios issue. You see, in Bravest Warriors #15, the heroine comes across a box of her childhood toys. At first she contemplates cleaning house by donating them (a fine idea!), but then? She reminds herself why action figures perhaps the greatest technical/spiritual achievement in the history of humankind. Ryan Pequin makes it all clear in his "Childish Things" short by Whitney Cogar, followed by a "Food Court" tale by Coleman Engle and a "Danny Divided" story by Tessa Stone. Boom! has provided us with a first look at the issue, with fives full pages of Pequin's short. Click through and prepare to hold your action figures tight.

Beating Up Bad Guys Is Element-ary In ‘Bravest Warriors’ #13 [Preview]

Bravest Warriors #13 Preview
Boom! Studios

Pen Ward's surprisingly well-adjusted teens from the year 3085 look like they'll be cutting loose on October 23 in Bravest Warriors #13. Writer Eric M. Esquivel, artist Mike Holmes, colorist Lisa Moore, and letterer Steve Wands pit the team against the fierce "Periodic Table of Evil" on page one, and don't let up from there with a plot that involves Danny experimenting with insect poison during a perilous vision quest. You know, the usual kind of deal. Boom! Studios has provided CA with a first look at the latest assembly of adventure, which you can click through to preview in full.

There's still several weeks of summer left and you can readily savor the spirit of fun-in-the-sun with next Wednesday's Adventure Time: Summer Special 2013 #1. Anyone who has ever lost a pet -- even for a moment -- knows it's a worrisome affair. For the extra-emotional Bravest Warriors team, being separated from their companion Catbug is similarly gut-wrenching. It’s ‘Cute Calamity’ In Ryan Pequin’s ‘Bravest Warriors’ #5 Backup [Preview]

bravestwarriorscapreview-main

Bodysnatching bad guys are traditionally depicted as germs, viruses, bugs, worms and other less-than-lovely corruptors. In Ryan Pequin and colorist Mirka Andolfo's Bravest Warriors #5 backup, "Cute Calamity," however, the team may be up against a much more cuddly threat when the huge-hearted Wallow adopts a pet of unknown alien origins. It's kind of like the time I w

One of my favorite pieces of tech from Bravest Warriors is the team's Holo-John, a Danger Room-meets-Holodeck-meets-bathroom where anything is possible. The animated BW episode "Butter Lettuce" demonstrated the training facility/commode's fun and fantastica

"Barftacular" may not sound like the most enticing adjective to describe Ryan Pequin's Bravest Warriors backup story, but trust me when I say that the artist's "Space Flu" is a super fun read. Set for release in stores and online on November 21, Bravest Warriors #2 features a main tale by Joey
