Virtua Fighter Figmas May Be The Best Video Game Figmas Ever
Fighting games are a staple of the video game diet, but while their number has been plentiful over the years, few have maintained a legacy. You've got your Street Fighters and your Mortal Kombats, but neither of those was created using technology co-developed by Lockheed Martin. The Model 1 arcade board is what helped set Sega's Virtua Fighter apart from the competition in 1993, and what helped earn the 3D polygonal fighter a place in fighting fans' hearts. The series continued along and improved its presentation using the cutting edge technology of whatever era a sequel released in, but the blocky graphics of the first entry will never be forgotten. That's what makes these new Virtua Fighter Figmas so special. While there have been video game Figma figures before, they mostly hold to a more realistic standard. Few Figmas have been as stylized to capture such a significant art style and moment in time as the upcoming Sarah Bryant and Akira Yuki Virtua Fighter figures.

Courtesy of Archie Comics, ComicsAlliance brings you an advance look at new periodical comic books, collected editions, and graphic novels going on sale in February 2016 from the publisher’s Archie Action line featuring Sonic the Hedgehog. If you happened to miss out on all the action and excitement of the massive "Worlds Unite" crossover, the second volume of the Archie Action event will be hitting your LCS this February. There were lots of punches thrown, so if that's your bag, it seems like a good fit. Elsewhere, Sonic's Werehog form returns during the second chapter of "Wings of Fire." Gotta give to the creative team for being able to make something out of that weird decision from the Sonic Unleashed video game. Over on the other side of the Sonic Universe, Eggman tries his hardest to get his factory back, but things don't exactly go as planned.

Though the Archie Action line will be minus some "mega" fun in the new year, that doesn't mean Sonic the Hedgehog won't still be up to his old tricks. Eggman just never gets tired of trying to take the Blue Blur down, but Sonic and his friends appear to be up to whatever task is needed in both the main book and Sonic Universe. Maybe one of these days, Sonic will actually find some time to finish putting his planet back together. Provided Eggman gives the poor guy a break.

Poor, Sonic the Hedgehog. The dude just never catches a break. Unless of course the "break" you're talking about is how his whole world is still shattered. Literally. Sonic and his friends have been working tirelessly to repair their planet since it fractured in the events after "Worlds Collide." Maybe if Sonic had time to catch his breath instead of constantly thwarting Eggman's latest machinations, Mobius wouldn't be the hot mess it still is today. But even Sonic can't do everything on his own, and this issue will also see Sally and Bunnie track down the final Chaos Emerald. You might recall the Chaos Emeralds were last used during "Worlds Unite" to give Mega Man and Sonic the power boost needed to take Sigma down for good. As long as they don't fall into the hands of Eggman, everyone should be okay, right?

If you've been following Archie's adventure comics, then you might remember that a good chunk of 2013 was taken up with "Worlds Collide," a massive crossover between Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man. If you missed it, then trust me, it was a pretty big deal - so big, in fact, that it seems like Archie, Sonic and Capcom have decided to follow it up with an even bigger crossover: "Worlds Unite," a full-on mashup of Sega and Capcom characters, set to launch in May, finally bring us one step closer to my dream of Jughead showing up in a Street Fighter game. What? We're actually getting Archie vs. Predator, do you really think that couldn't happen?

Suiting his speedy nature, Sonic the Hedgehog is never far from a new video game, having starred in more than 70 since his debut in Sega Genesis in 1991. But animation? Despite a starring in a flurry of shows in the 1990s including two simultaneous (but tonally different) cartoons circa 1994, an original animated video from Japan in 1996, the rock and roll themed Sonic Underground in 1999 and fina
