Why Can't the Movies Capture the Majesty of Storm?
Goddess. Windrider. Queen. Leader. Storm has worn multiple hats during her existence; roles that have aided in her evolution as one of comics’ most significant and abiding heroes. Yet although Storm’s pop cultural significance is great, her characterization has seen glaring inconsistencies from comic book to screen. Fans of the '90s cartoons remember a majestic leader whose long winded monologues became part of her appeal, but fans of the films were subjected to an unimposing and rather useless version of the character. But what was lost in translation? What is it about Storm that the movies' writers and producers failed to understand?

Revenge of the ComicsAlliance and ScreenCrush Funko Pop Giveaway
Looks like ScreenCrush and ComicsAlliance are teaming up to do another Funko Pop giveaway. Can you believe it? As if we haven't already given away enough Pops to fill up a living room, we're actually ending summer with yet another contest. We'd say it's because we like you and want you to have nice things, but honestly, it's because we just can't keep this many Pops in the house all the staffers of ComicsAlliance and ScreenCrush live in and make it to the kitchen unabated. This time, we've got a few of the most popular leading ladies in the Marvel Universe, as well as the big bad Darkseid and a classic Batman in honor of the 1966 series. Those guys are nice and all, but it's really about the Agent Carter, Black Widow and Storm Pops. That's a trifecta that would put nearly any other trio to shame, in both ass-kickingness and costume amazingness. Those are totally real words, too. Look 'em up in Roget's next time you visit 1987.

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Teases a Storm Over Cairo
X-Men: Apocalypse is spending some time shooting in Cairo (or whatever stands in for Cairo), which is not only the place where the big bad Apocalypse resides, but where Storm herself was raised. Director Bryan Singer previously teased Storm’s origin story in a recent set photo, and the latest update from set reiterates that idea with a photo of Storm gazing out at a storm over Cairo.

That someone is likely Storm. As teased at the end of X-Men: Days of Future Past, Apocalypse’s titular big bad (played by Oscar Isaac) has origins in Egypt — he is likely the oldest mutant, and perhaps the very first. But he’s not the only one who comes from that part of the world. Ororo Munroe, aka Storm, grew up in Cairo, putting her right on Apocalypse’s home turf.

Greatest Best Favorite Avenger Ever: Group F
With Avengers: Age of Ultron just around the corner, interest in these heroes has never been greater, so we’ve decided to pit all the official comic book Avengers against each other in a battle for your affections. Who is the greatest, best, favorite Avenger of all time? Only you can decide. We’ve created voting groups that mix up different eras of Avengers membership. Group F contains the character who could well be the easy favorite for the title of Greatest Avenger, so it'll be interesting to see how the other characters stack up against this paragon among heroes. We refer, of course, to Stingray. But Captain America is also in this group. Vote tactically, vote often. The top two or three Avengers will go through to the next round.

The Great Super-Costume Poll: Storms
To kick off our second week of polls, we're looking at a character who has a rather unique costume history. The X-Man Storm has had several different looks over the years, and though they've often had unifying elements, they've also embraced very different styles. But does Storm have one iconic look that dominates all the others? And has she ever actually looked bad? We've picked out five of her famous looks for you to vote on.

Poll: Best and Worst Comic Book Romances, Round IV
From Wally West and Linda Park, to Harley Quinn and Mistah J, we're asking you to vote on comics' most famous couples so we can determine the best (and worst) romantic partnerships that comics have to offer. If you think the couple is meant to be, vote 'True Love.' If you think they've got unstable chemistry and can only end badly, vote 'Bad Romance.' In today's polls, we trace a course from one storm to another through several Marvel characters. Some of these relationships led to big weddings, some led to bigger breakups, some were rebounds and some were affairs (or could be affairs). But are they true love, or a bad romance?

That’s why we’ve set out to review every single episode of the ’90s X-Men animated series. This week, the final season continues with the long-awaited wedding of Arkon and Storm! Wait, what?
