Halle Berry Will Return as Storm in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’
It doesn't get more official in 2013 than a tweet from director Bryan Singer that Halle Berry will reprise her role of Storm once again in his new X-Men film, Days of Future Past. Berry played the iconic weather-controlling mutant in three previous films including Singer's 2000 film X-Men and its first sequel, X2...

Mutant Women of Earth: How Chris Claremont Reinvented the Female Superhero
This April Brian Wood and Olivier Coipel launch a new X-Men title with a roster of Jubilee, Kitty Pryde, Psylocke, Rachel Grey, Rogue and Storm. That the team is all-female is unusual for a series that isn't defined along gender-lines. What makes the roster extraordinary is that it's an all-star line-up. These are first draft X-Men, and the book could easily have added more top picks -- Dazzler, Emma Frost, Jean Grey, Magik, Mystique -- and still been all-female. It's hard to think of any other superhero team with such a strong bench of women, and it's especially hard to think of another team where so many female characters rose to prominence within the team itself. What these characters have in common is no mystery; they were all written by Chris Claremont, the man whose name is synonymous with "strong female characters."

‘Uncanny X-Force’ #1: Mutants Got Problems, Y’all [Review]
The X-Men have been through some pretty rough stuff. That's actually kind of their deal; "going through rough stuff" is the default setting for those mutants, and the only time they're not going through rough stuff is when they've either just finished going through something terrible or are just about to go through something terrible, two states that tend to coexist on two or three page

The Spandex Closet: 10 Superheroes Who Need To Come Out
Superhero comics have a diversity problem. The leading characters are largely male, mostly white, and overwhelmingly straight. By definition, well-established characters come from an era when the culture was even straighter, whiter and more male than it is today, and as a result the characters fail to represent the diversity of their audience. ...
