Oh Good: The Dark Knight’s Batpod Spotted On Japan’s Roadways

ev1ctox05a1mtzwqtgeo

A Twitter user by the name of Ryuuchan spotted something you don't see every day on the roadways of Japan's Chiba Prefecture last weekend: Batman, in broad daylight, riding around on a Batpod similar to the one from The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.

The Batman costume looks spot-on, and while the Batpod isn't quite the design from the movies (it's got three wheels instead of two), it does look pretty doggone cool.

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Even Higher With A Revoltech Version Of ‘The Bat’

Revoltech The Bat
Kaiyodo

Though it's not in scale with Kaiyodo's The Dark Knight action figure from 2010, the Revoltech version of The Dark Knight Rises vehicles looks like it still packs plenty of Christian Bale-iciousness into its compact size. With eight points of articulation, a detachable cockpit canopy and a mini (nonposable) Batman nestled inside, it may actually move around more than Batman's crazy multi-copter did in the movie.

Bane Style Facemasks Banned By The NFL, Because The NFL Hates Fun

Tuck Bane Mask 2

"Why aren't comics fun anymore" is one of the biggest complaints you'll hear about the current state of the comic industry, with some readers pining for the days when comics weren't as "dark." But if you follow the football, you know for a fact that no one, anywhere, hates fun quite like the NFL. Case in point, the NFL -- or the No Fun League, if you want to go by its official name -- has recently banned players from using facemasks inspired by the mask worn by Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. That, right there, is the very definition of hating fun.

Christopher Nolan & Richard Donner Talk Batman & Superman For ‘Dark Knight Trilogy Ultimate Collector’s Edition’

Untitled-1

Warner Bros. confirmed on Tuesday the details of the long awaited The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector's Edition, a deluxe compilation of Blu-ray discs, literature and artwork from the Batman films directed by Christopher Nolan. While there have been DVD and Blu-ray boxsets of these films before, this edition is the decidedly more luxurious product that Dark Knight devotees have been anticipating since the trilogy concluded with last year's The Dark Knight Rises.

In addition to the high end packaging of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises as well as the supplemental features from their existing Blu-ray releases, the Ultimate Collector's Edition comes with Hot Wheels' Batmobile, Batpod and Bat vehicles;  art cards by Jock and Mondo featuring the villains of the trilogy; a hardcover photo book of production stills and behind the scenes images from all three movies; and, most auspiciously, an exclusive video conversation between Nolan and Superman: The Movie director Richard Donner, in which the two discuss their respective superhero films and how Donner's enduringly popular work informed Nolan's.

The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector's Edition goes on sale September 24 with a list price of $99.97.
