On The Cheap: Get All Of ‘The Losers’ For Ten Bucks in Vertigo Sale

The Losers, Andy Diggle and Jock

This week, Comixology launched a pretty big sale on Vertigo books, and as you might expect, the usual suspects are really well represented. Classics like Preacher and Transmetropolitan, long runs like Y The Last Man and 100 Bullets, a pretty huge chunk of Hellblazer, and even more recent hits like American Vampire and Coffin Hill are all well represented, and really? If you don't have Preacher, then getting the entire series for under thirty bucks is a pretty solid deal.

But way down at the bottom of the list, buried near the end of the "More Great Hits!" section, is an even better one: 32 darn-near perfect issues of Andy Diggle and Jock's The Losers, one of the best action adventure comics of this century, for ten bucks.

The Superpoll: Pratt vs. Evans, Round IV: Prattworld vs. Evansworld

Chris Evans and Chris Pratt have made a bet on the outcome of this weekend's Super Bowl that will see one of them show up at the other's choice of children's hospital or hospice in their Marvel superhero costume brandishing their rival's team colors. Either Captain America will carry the flag of Pratt's Seattle Seahawks, or Star-Lord will don the jersey of Evans's New England Patriots. We couldn't let this titanic tussle between two of Marvel's super-Chrisses pass by without a contest of our own, so we're pitting the worlds of Star-Lord and Captain America head-to-head in a series of polls that we call... the Superpoll.

Round three saw Avengers take on Guardians, and it looked like it might go either way, but at the time of this writing the Guardians could dominate two of the five contests thanks to Groot and Rocket Raccoon, while the Avengers are pulling ahead in three thanks to Black Widow, Hulk, and Hawkeye -- who has astonishingly pulled off an upset against a troll doll. But everything could still change, as today we explore the cinematic worlds and nerdy careers of Chris Pratt and Chris Evans. Welcome to the Superpoll: Round III.

‘The Losers’ Breaks its Way Onto the Big Screen [Review]

Things look grim for our hero. His roguish charm and wisecracks don't seem to be doing much good against the gun to his head. But after a well-timed twist of the arm and punch to the face, he's taken advantage of the situation and, depending on what rating the movie's going for, the guy who traded his gun for a broken nose is either unconscious or bleeding to death...
