The new trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past is out, and it's full to the brim with exciting surprises and hidden clues. Other websites didn't spot them, because those guys are not real fans. You probably didn't spot them either, so you should probably feel really embarrassed.
But we spotted them all, because we're amazing, and we're sharing our observations with you, because we're generous too. True fandom is all about spotting minor trivia and lording it over the heads of other people! Hurray! So here are X things we spotted that you didn't, you goon.
It seems another X-Men movie is about to come out or something? Apparently the latest one, the seventeenth in the series, is based on the Chris Claremont/John Byrne "Days of Future Past" storyline from 1980, and combines the different casts and conflicting timelines of the first three X-Men films and that of sort-of-prequel X-Men: First Class. This is extremely impressive, for not only has 20th Century Fox and director Bryan Singer translated to film the stories and characters of the enduringly popular Marvel comic books, but a version of their enduringly f***ed up continuity as well.
X-fans got their first look at several images of characters from the upcoming X-Men Days of Future Past movie today, in the form of a series of covers -- 25 in total -- from Empire Magazine's January 30 issue.
Some of the covers offer new looks at characters we've seen before, such as James McAvoy's Professor X, Michael Fassbender's Magneto, Peter Dinklage's Bolivar Trask, Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique, and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. Others, however, are the first fans are seeing of particular characters, such as Evan Peters' woefully begoggled Quicksilver and Fan Bingbing as Blink. There are also looks at new actors playing roles that have been in previous films, such as Toad and William Stryker.
Check out a huge selection of the covers, which also offer another good look at the Sentinels, after the jump!
In the last few months we've seen set pictures featuring Sentinels, Bolivar Trask, and X-Men young and old. And now, following it's debut at San Diego Comic Con, you can finally get your first look at the trailer for the upcoming X-Men: Days Of Future Past, due to arrive in theaters next spring.
Coming up with costumes for live action super hero movies must already be a trip, but throw in the opportunity to whip out some '70s style threads, and I'm guessing it's a designers dream. It's not a combination that presents itself very often, but in the upcoming X-Men: Days Of Future Past film, you'll see just that. And with principal photography on the movie having wrapped this weekend, an image has arrived online of Nicholas Hoult, James McAvoy and Hugh Jackman -- as Beast, Professor X and Wolverine, respectively -- in all their polyester sartorial splendor.
