Pretty much ever since the original webcomic by ONE premiered in 2009, fans of the superhero spoof One-Punch Man have been aching for an anime adaptation. Last fall, Madhouse --- the geniuses behind Summer Wars and Death Note, among other things --- granted their wish with a 12-episode anime based on the manga by ONE & Yuusuke Murata, which the record will show we at ComicsAlliance are big fans of. Now, thanks to Viz Media and Adult Swim's Toonami block, an English dub of that anime is finally available Stateside. So how is it? Pretty damn good.

Among the many TV revivals already in progress, few have excited fans the way Adult Swim promises to resurrect Cartoon Network’s Samurai Jack in the coming months. We’ve seen a few teases, but go behind the scenes with creator Genndy Tartakovsky, voice Phil LaMarr and more with a fresh look at the 2016 revival!

Most anime is adapted from manga, often produced by the manga publisher to raise awareness and sell it overseas. But what about the anime shows or film that go the other way, adapted from the screen to the page? How do those works hold up, and what changes or stays the same? That’s what Screen & Page aims to explore. This week, we're talking about one of the coolest --- and some would say one of the greatest --- anime series ever made, and its two obscure manga spin-offs; Cowboy Bebop!

We’ve seen Robot Chicken give the full-length parody treatment from Star Wars to DC comics a few times over, and now The Walking Dead will finally get its due. Robot Chicken will load its crossbow for a full special focused on the AMC zombie thriller, with Robert Kirkman aboard as well.

The Venture Bros. production has changed quite a bit over the years, once airing 13 episodes a season over largely unbroken runs, and now averaging eight with various specials in between. The same may apparently be true of Season 7, some of which has already been written, and may end up as a go-between special after Season 6.

Let’s go ahead and get two things out of the way immediately. First, while the fan art I’ve collected for you here is all great, it goes without saying (but I’m going to say it anyway) that this is only a small portion of all the incredible Venture Bros. fan art that’s floating around out there in the wild of the internet. So if I left some of your favorites out, it just means I didn’t come across it or had to leave it out for one reason or another. Second, if you’re familiar at all with the Venture Bros. then you probably have a very good idea why some characters and a lot of the fan art that’s out there for this show couldn’t be featured. You know who and what I’m talking about. (Sorry, Molotov.) Honestly, even some of the tamer stuff I could include is already pushing it. Even though it honors many of the tropes and trappings of some our favorite kid-friendly cartoons and characters, the Venture Bros. has always been a show for the grown-ups that grew up on those kid-friendly cartoons. Or, you know, teenagers and young adults who are kinda familiar with them thanks to Cartoon Network.

We’ve waited a lifetime for The Venture Bros. to return for Season 6, and yesterday’s big trailer isn’t the only thing keeping us company before the January 31 premiere. Sweet Sally of a time it’s taken to get here, The Venture Bros. Season 6 looks to be a tremendous makeover for the series, both in shifting location to New York City, upping Rusty’s financial credit, and tossing all manner of new superheroes and villains into the mix. The Venture Bros. occupies a unique space in animation, actually allowing its characters to age and progress, even if the wait between seasons keeps us all aging significantly faster. The wait for the nebulous arrival of Rick and Morty's third season just got a little bit easier to manage. While Oni Press' Rick and Morty comic has taken a bit of the sting out of the not knowing, we still only get that once a month. Pocket Mortys is hitting up both iOS and Android, meaning you'll never be without Rick's slovenly belches or Morty's ability to cancel out Rick's brainwaves to keep him safe. Plus, you get the added benefit of it being a riff on one of the most addictive and long-running role-playing game series', Pokemon.
