The CW has enough superheroes for one lifetime, between Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow, to say nothing of DC outliers like FOX’s Gotham. Well, get ready for another superhero (or villain?) to join the ranks in 2017, as those in the know say there’s another DC TV series on the way

The Arrow midwinter finale may not have answered the big question about Prometheus, but producers still threw one major curveball with those closing moments. Now, the first trailer for Season 5's January return gives a spoiler-y answer to Laurel’s return, as well as some fallout from the finale’s big death.
Two different methods of time-travel between The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow were bound to leave history a little screwy, something Arrow fans found out the hard way with a bizarre “Flashpoint” change. Granted, said timeline-tweak could have connected Arrow to the “Star City 2046” of Legends’ first season, producers now admit to some uncertainty with their take on John Diggle Jr. and Connor Hawke.
The first installments of Cartoon Network’s new Justice League Action will bow as early as this Friday, and the latest look at our “Shazam Slam” beginnings trot out even more DC favorites. Arrow meets Constantine yet again in a new clip, along with Swamp Thing, Wonder Woman and more.
Even as each series seemed to quietly sweep things under the rug thereafter, The CW’s four-way “Invasion!” crossover gave ample opportunity for some unexpected bonds between characters. At least some scenes understandably ended up cut for time, as with a new deleted scene of H.R. and Thea’s tense first meeting.
It’s been several months since The CW first announced an additional animated Arrow-verse series beyond Vixen, aiming to adapt Freedom Fighters: The Ray. Said universe has been understandably busy in recent weeks, but producers tease that The Ray is assembling an “ambitious” writing staff that ties into some larger news about Vixen.
On this week’s episode, it’s Christmas time in Star City, and Prometheus is cooking up some evil deeds! “What We Leave Behind” was directed by Antonio Negret from a script by Wendy Mericle and Beth Schwartz.
Apart from its 100th episode, Arrow Season 5 promises to bring fans to another major milestone for the series; completing the five-year flashback cycle that defined the early days. As such, we can cross one scene off the Season 5 finale next year, as a scene from the pilot will have Oliver in tatters once again.
The CW’s fourway crossover between Supergirl, Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow had enough material for five episodes, let alone three, so a few scenes understandably fell by the wayside. Among them, producers reveal two Supergirl-Legends connections we may explore in the future, and a deeper dive into the mysterious Dominators.
On this week’s episode, the alien race known as the Dominators are here! But so are all the other CW heroes! Including Supergirl! “Invasion!” was directed by James Bamford from a script by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Wendy Mericle.
