Mattel's new take on 4" action figures will extend into Batman's "Arkham" video game series world in the coming months, with new toys based on Batman: Arkham Origins, plus Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and the Wii U-exclusive Arkham CityArmored Edition. Like the new movie toys, these figures fall under the catch-all "DC Comics Multiverse" umbrella, which is a sound way to put Batman, Bane and Deadshot from Arkham Origins, Mr. Freeze from Arkham Asylum, and Azrael and Armored Batman from Arkham City together in one series. They're all fairly spartan accessory-wise, and seem like they'll come packed with the bare necessities (Mr. Freeze has his gun, Azrael's got some bladed weapons, Armored Batman has his electro-fists), but that could change closer to when they ship. Fans who're interested in picking up WB Games Montreal's upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins on October 25 may want to clear their schedule if they haven't played the first two games in the trilogy by Rocksteady Studios. According to GameStop, new bundles pairing the content-enriched "Game of the Year" editions of 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum and 2011's Batman: Arkham City are coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 23.
Mattel's kinda catch-all 4" tall DC Multiverse action figure line is set to kick off 2014 with half a dozen heroes and villains from the Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Origins video games. Batman leads the line with two figures of the hero in his standard and armored Wii U Arkham City suits, respectively, joined by AC versions of Mr. Freeze and Azrael. On the Arkham Origins side of the line are figures of Bane and Deadshot, suited up for snowy combat in Gotham.
