Bravest Warriors - Page 2
Pen Ward's surprisingly well-adjusted teens from the year 3085 look like they'll be cutting loose on October 23 in Bravest Warriors #13. Writer Eric M. Esquivel, artist Mike Holmes, colorist Lisa Moore, and letterer Steve Wands pit the team against the fierce "Periodic Table of Evil" on page one, and don't let up from there with a plot that involves Danny experimenting with insect poison during a perilous vision quest. You know, the usual kind of deal. Boom! Studios has provided CA with a first look at the latest assembly of adventure, which you can click through to preview in full.
Pendleton Ward's Bravest Warriors have been known to flex some muscle in their Cartoon Hangover animated adventures and comic books from Boom! Studios, but fans will soon be able to take over for the futuristic (and emotional) teens with a line of bendies from Pop Culture Shock Toys. Rubber and wire-based versions of Chris, Beth, Wallow and Danny were all on display at booth #1454 this weekend at New York City Comic Con 2013 with an estimated release in the first quarter of 2014 at $9.99 a piece. Sadly, there's no Catbug or Impossibear Bendie... yet, but there are some plush and bobblehead options for both characters on the way from Pop Culture Shock coming next year.
Between the talents of writer Joey Comeau, artist Mike Holmes and cover artists Tyson Hesse, Kory Bing, Ian McGinty and Jongmee Kim, Boom! Studios is hardly has to twist anyone's arm to read its ongoing all-ages Bravest Warriors comic. Still, if they want to promise more Catbug in Bravest Warriors #13, well, that should suit everyone with a heart just fine. Boom! has provided CA with a first look at the upcoming October issue, along with the promise of more page time for perhaps the cutest new character from the year 3085.

The 3D printing revolution is changing everything from manufacturing to medicine, but you know the real reason it rules? Friggin' action figures, man. ModiBot, a Rhode Island-based toy company focusing on print-on-demand modular action figures and accessories, has been offering fully-customizable toys and schematics via its Shapeways site for awhile. In an effort to scale up its operation and offerings, however, the company has taken to Kickstarter.

While season two of Bravest Warriors has only recently been confirmed to be in the works at Cartoon Hangover, Boom! Studios continues to kick out its monthly comic jams for fans of the show by Joey Comeau and Mike Holmes. This September the duo arrives at a full year of teamwork with Bravest Warriors #12, featuring covers by Tyson Hesse, Joanna Estep, Alec Longstreth and Michelle Czajkowski serving as something of a first birthday present for the series. Whether the team's huddling, dodging lasers, cruising on hoverboards or having their action figure selves played with by Catbug, it's easy to see how the Bravest Warriors having a rad time under the collaboration of Comeau, Holmes and the rest of the BW team has translated into fans having an even radder time over the past year.
