This morning we received a mysterious package. One the outside of the all red box were the distinctive logos for both Coca-Cola and Marvel. Inside were six mini-cans of Coke, each with one of the members of The Avengers on the can, along with a note that read the following: For those who weren’t paying attention, the date listed on the card is the date of this Sunday’s Super Bowl...

The Mediator sounds like a superhero name all its own, but that's how Black Widow apparently sees herself and her place in Captain America: Civil War. While previous Marvel films have firmly established a good working relationship between Scarlett Johansson's character and Steve Rogers, she'll find herself on the other side of the battle in the studio's next outing — but it's a little more complicated than that.

Last week Marvel debuted the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War, forgoing the usual mysterious teaser and “first look” images in favor of having Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans just drop the full preview during Jimmy Kimmel Live! As you might expect, the trailer broke at least one record, gathering the most views in 24 hours — for a Marvel trailer, anyway.

And that’s a wrap…for now. Captain America: Civil War has completed principal filming, and now the post-production process (and our long march to next May) begins. The film shot primarily at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, with additional filming taking place in Berlin (hello, Baron Zemo) and Puerto Rico. The news was delivered by Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito, while additional, supplementary filming will likely occur sometime over the next few months or so.

Captain America: Civil War will be the cinematic incarnation of those early morning debates you used to have with your friends: which superhero would win in a fight? We’ve known that the main plot of the film would find Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers facing off against Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and that the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be torn between them, but now we know where those fractures lie. So, who is Team Captain America and who is Team Iron Man?

We’d previously heard early rumors that a major player will die in Captain America: Civil War (a rumor we won’t repeat here) — you can’t really have a Civil War without major stakes, so that’s not terribly surprising. Today’s latest rumor suggests that at least one other Marvel character will perish in the upcoming film, which pits Captain America against Iron Man and forces the Avengers to choose a side.

With press for Ant-Man in full swing, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has been dropping a lot of hints about the future of the MCU. In addition to clueing us in to Marvel and Sony’s plans for their Spider-Man reboot, Feige is also opening up about Black Panther, who will make his on-screen debut in Captain America: Civil War. But what is the new hero’s role in the upcoming film, exactly?

These Marvel movies are so damn secretive, even their stars don’t know whether they’re in them or not.

With each casting update, Captain America: Civil War is sounding more and more like Avengers 2.5 — that makes sense, to a degree, since this installment in the franchise is going to majorly change things in the MCU and really shape the future of Phase 3. So far we have (deep breath) Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Vision, Ant-Man, Black Panther and War Machine. There are a couple of Avengers missing from that list, and it looks like one of them might be joining the fun.

Since the very first announcement of Captain America: Civil War, we’ve be imagining the exciting ways Marvel could promote this battle between Captain America and Iron Man. We even suggested the tagline “Whose Side Are You On?” Turns out we weren’t very far off. Jeremy Renner tweeted out a first look at promo art for the upcoming Marvel movie, which features Captain America and Iron Man side-by-side with that aforementioned quote right in between them.
