Captain America 3

In news that will surely ignite all kinds of controversy, a new Spider-Man rumor has arrived on the internet suggesting that the new Peter Parker will not be played by a white guy. In fact, he could be played by (gasp!) a black or Latino actor! And, he might not even be Peter Parker!

Ever since the announcement of Captain America: Civil War, we’ve been curious about how the Russo brothers will begin to adapt Marvel’s Civil War comic book story line for the big screen, kicking off a major new arc in the MCU (and one that sees Spider-Man swinging in with a crossover). According to Robert Downey Jr., the seeds for Civil War have already been planted in Avengers: Age of Ultron, once again proving just how much planning and foresight goes into the creation of the MCU.

Everybody knows by know of the Stan Lee cameos in the Marvel movies, and ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ is no exception. You probably also recognized the voice of Gary Sinise as the narrator of the Captain America exhibit at the Smithsonian in the movie. But, did you catch the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo by ‘Avengers 2’ director Joss Whedon? Captain America and Iron Man won’t be the only ones brawling in ‘Captain America 3’. While the juiciest part of ‘Civil War’ will surely be seeing the two (former?) Avengers squaring off against each other, there are still going to be some common villains they’ll have to deal with. For one, the Winter Soldier is still on the loose. For another, so is Brock Rumlow, aka Crossbones. And, as if it couldn’t get more difficult, Cap will also have to deal with yet another villain. Daniel Bruhl (‘Rush’) signed on to star in the film back in November and now comes some confirmation that he’ll be playing classic comic villain Baron Zemo.

It’s been a really rough time for Sony as the studio’s e-mails and sensitive materials have been hacked by a mysterious group, and confidential details have been leaking left and right. The latest pieces of information picked up from Sony’s hacked internal e-mails have to do with Spider-Man—a character that’s in a bit of flux right now as Sony has been trying to sort out what to do next following the critical and commercial disappointment of ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2.’ As it turns out, Sony has indeed spoken with Marvel about a potential crossover, and that’s not all they’ve been planning to salvage the character.
