Cloak and Dagger

One of the things I've never been able to understand about comics is why Blade has never been able to hold down an ongoing series. I mean, he the character who provided Marvel with its first-ever big-screen success, but he's a badass who chops up draculas with katanas, and really, that should be the easiest formula to sell to anyone. And yet, it hasn't happened, despite multiple attempts since the first Blade movie became a hit in 1998. Maybe it's because they haven't given Ron Wimberly a shot yet.

If there wasn't already a TV show called Spider-Man Unlimited, this would be the time to break out that title. Marvel has released details about the newest season of Ultimate Spider-Man on Disney XD, which premieres August 31. Not only does the show have a new subtitle for its third season, "Web Warriors," but it's also going to feature a whole bunch of Spider-People in its episodes. Miles Morales, Agent Venom (presumably Flash Thompson), and a new Iron Spider -- who is none other than former Hulk and Hercules compatriot Amadeus Cho -- will all appear, and from the looks of it, Spider-Girl, Spider-Ham, Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Man 2099 will be in the mix, too.

Jeph Loeb opened the Marvel Television Presents panel at San Diego's Comic-Con International 2011 by announcing update after update about Marvel comic books heading to the small screen at ABC, including the return of Hulk to your television, aka jessica jones, a live-action adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos' Alias, and an ABC Family adaptation of Cloak and Dagger...

Mark Millar's inaugural Kapow! Comic Con was by most accounts a good time for professionals and attendees, and naturally came with some juicy announcements of new projects.
