The Venom Symbiote bonds with Deadpool, giving him new powers and a stylish monochromatic look, in Deadpool: Back in Black #1 by Cullen Bunn and Salva Espin, the team behind Deadpool and the Mercs for Money. The comic follows directly on Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars, also written by Bunn, which shows the Merc with a Mouth briefly wearing the Symbiote on the original Battleword, before Spider-Man ever did.

You can't walk into a comic shop without tripping over one of Deadpool's comics. Whether he's the star, the guest-star, the co-star, the shooting star, or on the cover of Star Magazine, Deadpool is kind of a big deal. To be fair, if Deadpool didn't move the needle, he wouldn't be in a hojillion books at once. He also wouldn't get cool action figures if he was a total dork-o. Fortunately for him, and now possibly you, that's not the case. Yes, we're having another one of our bursts of generosity, and you could be the sole benefactor. This time, we're giving away one of Sideshow Collectibles' tip-top Deadpool figures, and you won't even have to break any walls for a chance to win.

Sideshow's Sixth-Scale Deadpool Debut is a Marvel Masterpiece [Review]
No stranger to Marvel Comics or sixth-scale figures, it's a wonder it's taken so long for Sideshow Collectibles to launch an exclusive series of characters that mix both of those worlds. The Sideshow Marvel sixth-scale collection will feature a number of characters, like Wolverine and the Punisher, but kicked off earlier this year with everyone's favorite neighborhood mercenary, Deadpool. Based on Sideshow's own concept, rooted more in the comic world than the cinematic one, Deadpool invokes a number of incarnations to arrive at a singular vision. He still falls prey to some of Sideshow's signature figure flaws, but has great detail, loads of accessories, and is an excellent start for the Marvel line.

ICYMI: A Classic '70s Character Died In 'Deadpool' #17
The current run of Deadpool --- which stretches back into the previous volume --- has been one of the smartest, most sophisticated takes on one of Marvel's most juvenile characters. Over the course of over sixty issues, Gerry Duggan and crew have infused Deadpool with a level of complexity that the character had been missing for decades. Recently, Wade Wilson has been pulled in all directions by the Avengers, the Mercs For Money, his burgeoning relationship with his daughter Ellie, and his failing marriage with Shilkah, Queen of Monster Metropolis. In the most recent issue by Duggan, Mike Hawthorne, Terry Pallot and Jordie Bellaire, Deadpool #17 one of those bonds snapped, and a classic Marvel hero paid the price. Spoilers follow.

The Replacements: The Venom Symbiote And The Legacy Of Venom
Since the dawn of the Silver Age, legacy characters have been a staple of superhero fiction, and having a new character step into a well loved role can open up new opportunities for writers and artists to tell different kinds of stories. In The Replacements, we’ll look back at the notable and not-so-notable heroes and villains to assume some of the most iconic mantles in the superhero genre. Spider-Man discovered the mysterious symbiote while on Battleworld, but after returning to Earth it proved to be a malevolent and obsessive force that craved a permanent bond. After Spider-Man freed himself from the symbiote's influence, the alien has gone on to bond with some of the toughest heroes and villains in the Marvel Universe.

The original Deadpool costume was padded with fake muscles. So the fake muscles were removed. That Reynolds dude is legitimately jacked. This is just one of the Deadpool facts in the latest installment of You Think You Know Movies!
