What followed was a particularly interesting scoop suggesting that the director and lead actor being eyed for the project both share the same first name, which kicked off a bunch of hopeful speculation among fans. On Sunday afternoon, we spoke to Emily Blunt who is promoting her role in Disney’s ‘Into the Woods.’ During this conversation, Blunt referenced her character in this summer’s ‘Edge of Tomorrow,’ comparing that role to what a possible Marvel movie might be. It just so happens, Blunt’s name has been mentioned in Internet buzz as a possible lead in Marvel’s ‘Captain Marvel’ (due in 2018), which would be Marvel’s first movie with a female lead. Has Blunt heard this buzz? As it turns out, she has. And she seems to find that buzz quite flattering, but admits she has had no discussions with Marvel at this time.

New ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ Trailer Looks Like A Fairly Faithful Adaptation Of ‘All You Need Is Kill’ [Video]

Imagine what would happen if Groundhog Day and Halo had a baby, and you'd get something that looks a lot like the Japanese light novel/manga All You Need Is Kill.

Now imagine that story being pretty faithfully adapted into a movie that stars Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. (With the key difference of the lead characters in the manga being teenagers and Cruise being an ageless robot man.) That's what Edge of Tomorrow kind of looks like, at least going by the new trailer that went up today.
