ICYMI: San Diego Convention Center Survives The Great Disaster
I've always wondered what it would be like to, say, play a Fallout game that takes place in a city where you live. I imagine it would be pretty weird to see the local landmarks of the place you grew up rendered with the age and ruin of the Great Disaster upon them, but until someone decides to set their apocalyptic fantasy in rural South Carolina, I don't think I'll ever know. I mean, if nothing else, I'm not sure you'd be able to tell. But this week, I did have something close to that experience while reading Kamandi Challenge #2, because Peter J. Tomasi and Neal Adams have presented me with the post-apocalyptic version of a building that I'm very familiar with. So in case you missed it, the San Diego Convention Center, the home of Comic-Con International, has canonically survived the Great Disaster and emerged into a post-apocalyptic wasteland that's only slightly less hellish than the one it turns into every July here in our time.

ICYMI: 'Cave Carson' Has This Week's Most Shocking Return
In the last few weeks, DC has seen the return of Extraño, the Subway Pirates, KGBeast, and Harold Allnut, and honestly? If you had asked me to pick four of the least likely returns, those would've definitely been on the list. Now, though, DC has another one in the pages of Gerard Way, Jon Rivera, Michael Avon Oeming, Nick Filardi, and Clem Robins' Cave Carson Has A Cybernetic Eye, on the offchance that Cave Carson himself returning to headline a high-profile title wasn't shocking enough. So in case you missed it... well, read on if you don't mind a spoiler for the issue's last page.

'All-Star Batman' #3 Had A Surprising Character Comeback
2016 has been a pretty amazing year for people who love obscure and forgotten DC Comics characters (read: me), but this week, the Rebirth era got its most shocking return yet. As Batman and Two-Face continued their road trip upstate in the pages of All-Star Batman, beset on all sides by assassins, arch-villains, and other assorted ne'er-do-wells, they run straight into one of the most unexpected characters in a long time --- and no, I'm not talking about KGBeast. That dude came back last month. This one's even weirder.

ICYMI: The Rainbow Batman Has Finally Returned
When DC launched its Rebirth universe, one of the big promises was that it was going to put the baby back in the bathwater and restore some of the elements that the DCU had lost in the New 52. Connections between characters had been restored, and there's even a hint of a history that goes far beyond the truncated five years that kicked off in 2011 with Justice League #1. But even with that mission statement, there were elements of the past that I thought might never make it back into continuity. Now, though, I'm not sure there are any limits to what's coming back, because I have seen the most unexpected return of the year in the pages of Francis Manapul's Trinity #1. In case you missed it, The Rainbow Batman is back!

This week, in Peter Tomasi, Patrick Gleason, and Doug Mahnke's Superman #5, Superman finally decided that the best thing to do about the Eradicator would be to take the fight outside of Metropolis, so he took it to the one place that he knows he has the advantage. In case you missed it, this week saw Superman and Lois Lane fighting the Eradicator in the Batcave. No, the other Batcave. The one on the moon.

ICYMI: Bulk And Skull Have A Podcast Called 'Ranger Station'
If you're a regular ComicsAlliance reader who also picked up Kyle Higgins and Hendry Prasetya's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 this week, you might have had a moment of confusion when the very first page kicked off the comic by welcoming you to Ranger Station. Despite the striking resemblance, that's not me up there introducing CA's weekly look back at the Power Rangers television show --- it's actually young Farkas "Bulk" Bulkmeier giving you the name of his podcast. That's right, everybody. In case you missed it, Bulk and Skull have a podcast about the Power Rangers called Ranger Station, and that's actually pretty great.
