ICYMI: A Favorite Mutant Fell To Terrigen In 'Death Of X' #1
Since the Marvel Universe jumped eight months ahead following the conclusion of Secret Wars, the biggest mystery left unanswered has centered on the relationship between the X-Men and the Inhumans; specifically regarding the toxic Terrigen Cloud killing mutants around the world. This week, we got our first look at the events that sparked the conflict that will eventually lead to the disappearance or death of Cyclops, with a look at the first mutant to fall to M-Pox in Jeff Lemire, Charles Soule, Aaron Kuder and Morry Hollowell's Death of X #1.

X-Men Books Not Cancelled! 'Enemy Of The State II' Announced
Since the announcement of the Death of X crossover event between the X-Men and the Inhumans, fans of the Marvel's merry mutants have been worried that the end may be nigh for the Children of the Atom. These worries certainly weren't abated when Marvel released the Marvel NOW Previews book, which contained no mention of the ongoing X-Men titles continuing into October. At a panel on Thursday during San Diego Comic Con, Marvel editors and creators spoke about the tease of what Death of X might mean for the franchise, but several of the ongoing titles such as Uncanny, All-New and Extraordinary X-Men were confirmed to be continuing. The big news, however, is that Laura Kinney AKA Wolverine will be following in her mentor's bloody footsteps in a sequel to Mark Millar and John Romita Jr's "Enemy of the State."

'Death Of X' To Reveal What Happened Between X-Men & Inhumans
When Marvel Comics resumed normal publishing with the All-New, All-Different initiative in the wake of Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic's Secret Wars, the timeline had jumped eight months ahead to a world where the Terrigen Bomb had made Inhumans more prominent than ever, but had begun killing off mutants, forcing the X-Men to retreat to Limbo. We knew something went down between the mutants and the Inhumans, and we know that Cyclops did something that took him off the board, but we don't yet know the full details of what happened in that eight month gap. That's about to change as this October Extraordinary X-Men writer Jeff Lemire and Uncanny Inhumans writer Charles Soule team up to tell that story in Death of X.

Marvel’s ‘Inhumans’ Movie Is Still Happening…Eventually
Marvel first announced an Inhumans movie as part of their Phase 3 plan back in 2014, but a subsequent release delay and a lack of updates on the project seemed to signal a bit of trouble — an assumption that proved correct when the studio recently pulled Inhumans from its Phase 3 schedule, leaving us to speculate as to whether the film had simply been delayed again or canceled entirely. According to Kevin Feige, it’s the former, as Marvel is still plotting an Inhumans film…eventually.

Ewing And Kesel Introduce 'Ulysses' In Digital-First Series
This week saw the release of Marvel's Civil War II prelude as part of the publisher's Free Comic Book Day offering, and for such a short story it packed a heck of a lot in. One of those story beats was the introduction of a new Inhuman named Ulysses who can see into the future, and who will be the driving macguffin of the event as lines are drawn based on whether or not heroes should use him to stop crimes before they happen. To provide context on who Ulysses is, who he was before, and his relationship with the Inhumans, Marvel has announced a three-part digital-first series titled Civil War II: Ulysses by Al Ewing and Karl Kesel, which promises to show how the new character found his place among the Inhumans and became so sought after by the heroes of the Marvel Universe.

Marvel Officially Removes ‘Inhumans’ From Phase 3
Last week, when Marvel’s Kevin Feige revealed that Inhumans would be delayed (again) in order to avoid conflict with Disney’s release of Indiana Jones 5, it was sort of assumed that the film would probably disappear from Phase 3 altogether. That assumption has proven correct, as the studio has officially removed Inhumans from their 2019 schedule entirely, leaving us with a couple of questions about what Marvel will do next.

Marvel Pushing Back ‘Inhumans’ to Avoid Disney’s ‘Indiana Jones’ Reboot
In October of 2014 at a Marvel event in Los Angeles, Kevin Feige and Marvel announced a November 2, 2018 for Inhumans, their latest superhero team. But a funny thing happens when you announce a movie’s release date four years in advance? Things change and life, uh, finds a way as Dr. Ian Malcolm would say. And so, Marvel has now pushed back Inhumans to an as-yet-undecided date to get out of the way of another Disney blockbuster: Indiana Jones 5.
