This week we’re back from the winter wonderland that was Agent Carter, and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are back from that blue planet and are talking about powers and Inhumans and fish pills! “Bouncing Back” was directed by Ron Underwood and written by Monica Owusu-Breen.

It’s well-documented at this point that Marvel movies take no cue from the multiple TV tie-ins, most always the other way around, though Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3's worldwide introduction of Marvel’s Inhumans seemed at least potentially worth a mention. Not so, apparently, as Captain America: Civil War’s writers had no awareness of the TV branch in crafting Cap’s international adventure.

It’s been nearly two years since Black Bolt crashed Attilan into the Hudson River, sending a cloud of Terrigen Mists across the planet and unlocking latent Inhuman DNA wherever it traveled. In that time, the profile of the Inhumans as a franchise has skyrocketed; they’re in the TV shows, they have a movie on the way, and the comics have expanded into an entire line, including fan favorites such Ms. Marvel and Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur. All-New Inhumans just wrapped up its first arc, as the team led by Crystal ventured to the dictatorship of Sin Cong to investigate claims that not one person there was transformed by the Terrigen Cloud. ComicsAlliance caught up with All-New Inhumans co-writer James Asmus to talk creating new Inhumans, their new global scale, and their relationship with the X-Men, both in canon and in the wider publishing landscape. We also have brand new art from All-New Inhumans #5 by Andre Araujo!

As debuted after Agent Carter Season 2 finale “Hollywood Ending,” the latest look at Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Season 3 return shows plenty more Inhuman action, including Matthew Willig’s Lash (using previous footage, though his return is certainly still a possibility). We also see more of the Secret Warriors in action, as well as a new threat aligned with Ward’s new Marvel identity.

It’s hard to believe Agent Carter is already approaching the end of Season 2 (and hopefully just the season), but already Coulson and the modern Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are bursting at the seams to return. Our first 2016 trailer bounces back with new additions to the Secret Warriors team, along with Ward’s creepy return and other Inhumans.

Much as we’ve adored the first few weeks of Agent Carter Season 2, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans are eager to pick up on the 2015 cliffhanger that saw Grant Ward manifesting yet another Inhuman threat. Say no more, S.H.I.E.L.D. fans, as the first 2016 synopsis has arrived, leading the team to bounce back with a pursuit of even more super-powered Secret Warriors!

Poor Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. First, Joss Whedon flat-out admits that the TV series get “leftovers” from their cinematic brethren, and now S.H.I.E.L.D.’s one major Marvel tie-in may not get the attention it deserves either. According to Clark Gregg, none of Agents’ work with the Inhumans of Marvel lore may end up tying into the 2019 movie version after all.

Tonight’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ closed out 2015 with two shocking (and pretty brutal) deaths, but did “Maveth” completely pull a Glenn? And are we any closer to figuring out the identity of our mysteriously apocalyptic Inhuman? Find out in our full review!
