So remember how a couple weeks ago, I said that Sonic the Hedgehog continuity was so weird that you could pretty much tell me anything about it and I would have no reason to doubt you? Well buckle up, kids, because our friends at Archie just sent over a preview of their next paperback collection of Sonic stories, and it's a weird one. In this particular story, Sonic becomes a werewolf. Er, werehog? Werewolfhog? Listen, it's probably for the best if you just check out the preview below!

With almost 300 issues in the core series, Archie's Sonic The Hedgehog stands as the longest-running uninterrupted American monthly comic book that's currently being published. In Hedging Your Bets, I attempt to get up to speed on Sonic the Hedgehog, challenging the odds to hopefully make it all the way to the finish line. This week, we've got a lot of interesting ideas that seem to be having a hard time becoming a story.

Lettering is an art form that doesn’t get enough recognition in comics, and when it’s done well you’ll often not notice it. However, Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka, Nicola Scott, Romulo Fajardo Jr, and Jodi Wynne incorporates the lettering in a few unique ways that add extra layers to the storytelling, and is emblematic of how a new approach to lettering is improving DC Comics on the whole.

The Sonic comics seem pretty good at celebrating big milestones with a jumping-on point, and in next month's Sonic the Hedgehog #288, Archie Comics is giving us another one in the form of "Genesis of a Hero," a story that flashes back to Sonic's first battle with his rotund, mustachioed foe, just in time for his 25th anniversary.

Ahead of the release of Sonic The Hedgehog #287 by Ian Flynn, Tracy Yardley, Terry Austin, Gabriel Cassata and John Workman, Archie Action has provided us a look at the final part of the biggest Sonic story ever.

The last time we talked about Sonic the Hedgehog, when the current "Panic in the Sky" storyline was just getting started, I mentioned my almost total unfamiliarity with the franchise. But as a potential new reader, one thing I can definitely appreciate is that even here, in the second part of a four-part story, they're still giving everyone identifying captions so that I can at least sort out the characters by name. Fortunately, it doesn't take a deep knowledge to get the basics: There's an attack by an evil army and Sonic's crew of good guys are falling out of the sky --- and someone's very upset that their computer's not working.
