Over the course of a number of volumes, annuals and miniseries, Gerry Duggan and his collaborators have turned Deadpool into one of the most tightly plotted and rewarding superhero titles on the stands. Next March, the running tension between Deadpool and his wife Shiklah will finally reach a boiling point as the Queen of Monster Metropolis stakes a claim on the surface world, and it's up to Wade, Spider-Man, and The Mercs For Money to stop her.

Marvel's upcoming event Monsters Unleashed looks set to live up to its name as the publisher has announced it will be spinning out of the main miniseries and into specially branded one-shots that are all numbered #1.MU. Among the one-shots include special issues of Spider-Man/Deadpool and Avengers allowing creators to really run wild with some of the Marvel's most well-known franchises.

Marvel Comics has a fantastic roster of straight-up fun characters that don't need to be tied into the grim and gritty goings on of day-to-day modern superheroics. It's an aspect of the Marvel Universe the publisher has really leaned on in recent years with titles such as The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Howard The Duck and The Astonishing Ant-Man, but it seems that playtime is over thanks to Deadpool: Too Soon?, a new miniseries by Joshua Corin and Todd Nauck.
