Everyone Has Fun: Colleen Coover Talks 'Small Favors'
Since its original run from 2002 to 2004, Colleen Coover's Small Favors has been one of the most highly regarded erotic comics of all time. It tells the fantastic story of Annie, a woman who uses up her lifetime supply of self-pleasure and is sentenced to be monitored by a manifestation of her conscience, Nibbil. Unfortunately for her prudish side, Annie and Nibbil quickly fall in love and spend eight issues having extremely imaginative sex with each other and a few new friends --- all within the context of a happy and charmingly romantic love story. Now, thirteen years since its final issue, a hardcover collection from Limerence Press is set to hit shelves in April, complete with a new story that Coover drew based on a script from the original run. ComicsAlliance spoke to Coover about the history of Small Favors, how the experience shaped her career, and the rules that governed the universe of her "girly porno comic" love story.

The Kinkiest Moments In Golden Age 'Wonder Woman' Comics
Everybody knows that Golden Age Wonder Woman can be pretty kinky. In fact, people joke about it constantly. After all, credited Wonder Woman writer William Moulton Marston was collaborating on the stories with his two wives, Elizabeth Holloway and Olive Byrne, and they were all known to be into some stuff that went far beyond their polyamory. And whether artist Harry G. Peter was in on the implications of what he was drawing or not, he gave it his all. So in a spirit of openness and positivity, we've dug through the first five years or so of Wonder Woman comics in search of kink. And if anybody had doubts, the kink is definitely there.

The Many Loves Of Archie Andrews
Archie Andrews is so hot right now. With KJ Apa dazzling us on screens in The CW’s Riverdale, Archie is all of a sudden a sex symbol for viewers around the world, and it’s a lot easier to see while the girls of Riverdale have been chasing after the waffle-haired boy-next-door for more than seventy years. While Archie’s known for being part of the most iconic love triangle in fiction, he’s also a bit of a player, who has been known to date around. Take a look back at eight of the most memorable Archie Andrews love interests.

Jessica Campbell Casts A Female Gaze On Art In 'Hot or Not?'
Jessica Campbell’s Hot or Not: 20th Century Male Artists has a very simple premise: which 20th century artists were bangable? And based on an artist’s work, can we tell if they were hot or not? Published by Koyama Press in fall 2016, Hot or Not is a short but searing work of satire skewering the male-dominated world of art, and society’s desire to pass judgement on people based on their attractiveness --- which is of course subjective, as is art itself.

Unsinkable Ship: The Endearing Appeal Of Spideytorch
I don't spend a lot of time seeking out fan-generated content or non-canon ships, possibly to my own detriment, but the pairing of Spider-Man and The Human Torch is one that I've become very invested in over the past year. Spideytorch not only helped me put a lot of important personal things in perspective; it gave me a way to appreciate how fan-art can have an impact on how different individuals approach canon stories.

Jory And Hunter Take The Next Step In 'Backstagers' #6
Boom’s Backstagers is one of my favorite comics to premiere in the last year. Ryan Sigh’s lineart and Walter Baiamonte's colors bring the weird, gorgeous magical backstage world to life, but it’s also worth highlighting James Tynion IV’s writing, particularly his focus on overt, in-canon queer representation. Before Backstagers #7 comes out on February 22, I want to take note of the loveliness that is Backstagers #6, published in January. Spoilers for #6, and for the series as a whole, below.

Sex is Rad: Should You Be Reading 'Oh Joy Sex Toy'?
Oh Joy Sex Toy began in 2013 with a simple comic reviewing one of the most popular sex toys out there -- the Magic Wand Original, a vibrator of much renown. From there, the comic has spiraled out to cover every subject related to sex in a joyful, informative, and very funny manner.

Unsinkable Ship: All The Girls Love Kitty (Especially Illyana)
Illyana Rasputin was Kitty Pryde's first true love, and you'll never convince me otherwise. Sure, Kitty had already expressed an interest in Illyana's brother Piotr (the gentle giant known as Colossus), but at the time that was more of a childhood crush. It was only later, after Kitty had become an adult without Piotr getting much older, that later writers decided that Kitty and Colossus had been "true love." Kitty's relationship with Illyana, meanwhile, was a close connection between two equals.
