While we were originally supposed to get a new Steven Universe episode this week, SU fans were disappointed to learn that the episode is being held off for a later date. Chances are it’ll be put as the first episode of the next Steven Bomb, but of course it’s still a bummer to have to wait. However, the silver lining is that this week featured a Stevonnie storyline in the the latest Steven Universe comic, and guess what? It’s lovely.

Oh Joy Sex Toy began in 2013 with a simple comic reviewing one of the most popular sex toys out there -- the Magic Wand Original, a vibrator of much renown. From there, the comic has spiraled out to cover every subject related to sex in a joyful, informative, and very funny manner.

As another Steven Bomb ends, we once again enter that dark purgatory in between regular Steven Universe episodes. However, thanks to Kaboom's new Steven Universe ongoing by Melanie Gillman and Katy Farina, we don't have to go entirely Steven-less, as the series launches next week with a story all about Steven, Peridot and Lapis Lazuli discovering an injured baby bird while none of the other, more responsible Crystal Gems are around.

Tara Madison Avery and Jeanne Thornton of Stacked Deck Press have announced an anthology dedicated to transgender and nonbinary cartoonists, entitled We’re Still Here, showcasing the comics medium from the transgender/nonbinary perspective. The editors are also inviting open submissions from trans/nonbinary cartoonists who want to show what they can do.

Steven Universe fans rejoice! Boom Studios has announced a new ongoing comic based on the popular Cartoon Network series by writer Melanie Gillman and artist Katy Farina. Gillman is best known for their webcomic As the Crow Flies, while Farina has previously worked on licensed properties for Boom, drawing The Amazing World of Gumball and coloring Rick & Morty.
