Humans are back, baby!... at least in Series 5 of The Walking Dead Minimates line from Art Asylum and Diamond Select Toys. No, the tide isn't really turning in the war between humans and zombines in the TWD narrative in comics or on AMC's TV adaptation, but the latest Minimate two-packs at least focus primarily on the living. Seven survivors and just one zombie are coming in June -- and it's just a "Geek Zombie." Glenn, Maggie, Tyreese, Michonne, Morgan and Martinez should have no trouble surviving his attacks. What's he going to do? Talk to them about continuity errors to death (like we would)?

Knowing what to buy anyone during the holidays can make for a pretty dicey season of giving. But toy collectors with discerning tastes? That's usually gift card territory. But it doesn't have to end that way! We're here to help with a guide breaking down some of the most awesome action figure and toy options for the young and young at heart (mostly the latter). Whatever your articulated plastic budget is this year, we've got recommendations sure to please. Hit the jump for ComicsAlliance's 2013 Holiday Gift Guide to Awesome Action Figures.
Marvel Minimates series 51 is spilling over into the Diamond Select Toys and Art Asylum's 17th series of Toys "R" Us exclusive toys, but with only two crossover figures from both lines. Set to arrive at TRU by the end of 2013 are two-packs pairing Marvel NOW versions of Hawkeye and Black Widow, Superior Spider-Man 2.0 and Ultimate Electro, Venom and the new Nova Sam Alexander, plus Rescue with Robot Hulk (the comic one, not the Ang Lee movie one).

With the Thor: The Dark World movie release date just around the corner on November 8, Art Asylum and Diamond Select Toys have rolled out a close look at their full line of Marvel Minimates for the film. Originally previewed at SDCC 2013, the 2" Thor 2 figures come in the usual 2-pack configurations. Thor will come with the main movie villain Malekith, Loki will be packed with Heimdall, Dr. Erik Selvig will come with a Dark Elf, and Darcy Lewis will also be packed with a Dark Elf.
While fans got a glimpse of Diamond Select Toys and Art Asylum's Minimates plans for the recently wrapped Age of Ultron storyline in the form of Wolverine and a golden Ultron Drone at SDCC 2013, Marvel's revealed four more characters from the event that will soon join the line in one fell swoop. Coming to comic and specialty stores in early 2014 will be a proper Age of Ultron box set packing 2" tall versions of Nicky Fury, Iron Man, new Marvel U resident Angela and a hulking six-armed Ultron.
