Artist Kilian Eng is a fixture of our Best Art Ever feature for a reason. Eng's highly detailed art, with an obvious European influence, can at once feel contemporary and futuristic. And if you're at all familiar with his work, you know he's very well-suited to illustrate any kind of space landscape you could possibly imagine. So we were pretty happy to see that Mondo had commissioned Eng to create this beautiful Silver Surfer poster, as part of a new series spotlighting Marvel characters.
We've written in the past about our love of Mondo's poster series, but these new DuckTales posters might be our favorites (or maybe just Chris Sims' favorites). Celebrating the release of the DuckTales: Remastered video game from Capcom, WayForward and Disney Interactive, Mondo has commissioned four new posters by artists JJ Harrison, Anne Benjamin, Phantom City Creative and DKNG featuring the denizens of Duckburg. Between these, Remastered's release and Fantagraphics' beautiful reproductions of the Carl Barks Duck comics, it's a fine time to be a fan of anthropomorphic ducks who almost uniformly refuse to wear pants.
Last week Warner Bros. released details of the highly anticipated 'The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector's Edition.' Featuring blu-ray editions of all three Batman films directed by Christopher Nolan, plus additional literature and numerous other extra features, the box set is a dream for devoted fans of the franchise, and ComicsAlliance has partnered with ScreenCrush to give a copy away for free.
Warner Bros. confirmed on Tuesday the details of the long awaited The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector's Edition, a deluxe compilation of Blu-ray discs, literature and artwork from the Batman films directed by Christopher Nolan. While there have been DVD and Blu-ray boxsets of these films before, this edition is the decidedly more luxurious product that Dark Knight devotees have been anticipating since the trilogy concluded with last year's The Dark Knight Rises.
In addition to the high end packaging of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises as well as the supplemental features from their existing Blu-ray releases, the Ultimate Collector's Edition comes with Hot Wheels' Batmobile, Batpod and Bat vehicles; art cards by Jock and Mondo featuring the villains of the trilogy; a hardcover photo book of production stills and behind the scenes images from all three movies; and, most auspiciously, an exclusive video conversation between Nolan and Superman: The Movie director Richard Donner, in which the two discuss their respective superhero films and how Donner's enduringly popular work informed Nolan's.
The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector's Edition goes on sale September 24 with a list price of $99.97.

As fetishists for both outstanding illustration and high quality collectibles, we're very pleased to learn that Mondo, the preeminent gallery and producer of original screen-printed posters based on film and television properties, has selected The Black Beetle as the subject of its next limited edition exclusive.
