It may not have the fanfare of its predecessor, but Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender is nonetheless back for Season 2 this very Friday, and looking pretty divided, at that. Our first clips from the new season sees the disparate team members exploring some strange new territory, including underwater worlds, and … a giant pile of garbage. Onward!

In a world where Rogue One can fold in Star Wars Rebels canon and vice-versa, it can be frustrating for Marvel fans that the movie and TV sides haven’t had any real back-and-forth characters. Someone like Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin would seem like a natural fit, even in passing reference, but the Daredevil star sadly believes “It makes sense not to mix the TV stuff.”

We’ve still one more Marvel Netflix series to go before The Defenders hit the block, but the team is already hard at work in the newest photos. See for yourself, as Iron Fist takes on a masked criminal, and Jessica Jones goes out for a stroll in new previews of the team-up miniseries.

Apart from Jessica Jones, Daredevil will prove the Defender we’ve lost touch with the most, by the time Marvel’s four-way Netflix teamup debuts this summer. Season 2 left us on a semi-hopeful note of Matt making a surprise admission to Karen, but according to Charlie Cox, Matt will have taken things much further by the time The Defenders opens.

Despite all we know of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and their respective casts, The Defenders has kept deadly silent on Sigourney Weaver’s mysterious villain. No longer, as new photos reveal not only said villain’s nom de guerre, but also some Luke Cage crossover, and more.

The already-streaming Marvel Netflix series have given us a taste of the four major superheroes paired up, but we’re nearing time for The Defenders to bring it all home. So it is, that Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist are all standing tall in a costume-happy first photo!

Netflix borrowed a few pages from The Legend of Korra to make Voltron: Legendary Defender an impressive success for the streaming network, and Season 2 looks to be building on that well. There’s new heroes, new villains and new worlds in the first official trailer for Season 2, ahead of a January premiere.

Fans of Daredevil’s Kingpin were undoubtedly disappointed to hear that Vincent D’Onofrio wasn’t likely to menace The Defenders, even as his specter still looms over Hell’s Kitchen. D’Onofrio previously claimed to know when Wilson Fisk might return, but does his 2017 production schedule rule out Daredevil Season 3?

We don’t yet have the clearest picture of how Marvel’s Netflix Punisher spinoff will fit in with the other Defenders series (beyond a 2017 premiere), but at least its cast is hard at work. Marvel’s Netflix Defenders has yet to reveal much about Sigourney Weaver’s main villain, though one imagines the eight-episode teamup series will feature a number of smaller big bads. Don’t expect Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk to menace anyone other than Daredevil, however, as the actor says there’s “no chance” of a Defenders appearance (or a Spider-Man: Homecoming role).
