Aftershock Announces New January Books ‘Blood Blister’ and ‘Animosity: The Rise’ [NYCC 2016]

Both books that Aftershock Comics announced at New York Comic Con this past weekend are essentially horror, but coming at the concept from two very different directions. Blood Blister looks too be a pretty intense examination of moral corruption through a body horror lens, and Animosity: The Rise offers insight into what happened all over the world as the animals rose up in the Animosity ongoing.

Interview: The Stars of Valiant’s ‘Ninjak vs the Valiant Universe’ Swing for the Fences [NYCC 2016]

After weeks of hinting at a top secret project with fan-favorite actors Michael Rowe and Jason David Frank, Valiant Entertainment finally pulled back the curtain on Ninjak vs the Valiant Universe at New York Comic Con. The first trailer for the upcoming digital series brought out the first appearances of familiar Valiant characters like Ninjak and Bloodshot, but we also got glimpses at Archer and Armstrong, X-O Manowar, and the villain of the first season, Roku.

Developed by Valiant Digital in conjunction with Bat in the Sun --- they of the Super Power Beat Down --- Ninjak vs the Valiant Universe isn't set to arrive until 2017, but we had a chance to chat with some of the stars at NYCC to learn more about breaking new ground and setting the pace for Valiant's live-action efforts.

FX’s ‘Legion’ Adds Jemaine Clement in Mystery Role [NYCC 2016]

Marvel Still Has Plans for the Vampire Hunter ‘Blade’ [NYCC 2016]

About this time last year, rumors were flying that Marvel was trying to get some version of Blade off the ground. There were reports that Marvel had met with actor Wesley Snipes to discuss the possibility of a Blade 4; there were also reports that Marvel wanted to move forward with a Blade movie focusing on the vampire hunter’s daughter. Whatever the final product might be, Marvel clearly had some vague notion that Blade would be a factor in the future of the franchises.

Ron Perlman Has Officially Given Up on ‘Hellboy 3’

For a while there, it seemed like the only sure things in life were death, taxes, and Ron Perlman talking up the possibility of a Hellboy 3. Even just scrolling back through our own archives, you can find multiple attempts by Perlman to either talk up the chances of a sequel or get fans to pitch in on the project. Even after Guillermo Del Toro went dark on the subject, Perlman continued to hold out hope that another film would get made.

Another Animated ‘Wonder Woman’ Movie Is on the Way

After years of waiting, Wonder Woman fans are finally going to get their due. Not only will the Amazonian princess appear in two films in 2017  —  her standalone Wonder Woman next June and the Justice League crossover in November  —  she will also be the subject of an upcoming biopic of comic book creator William Moulton Marston and the two women who played a pivotal role in the creation of the character.
