The grand debut of Daredevil Season 2 footage from New York Comic-Con quickly made its way online, but will we be so lucky with the next trailer? A new report has emerged of trailer footage screened at Brazil Comic-Con has emerged, teasing our first major throwdown between Daredevil and The Punisher.
We’re just one day away from the Netflix premiere of Marvel’s Jessica Jones, and already looking ahead to Daredevil Season 2, but with so much of Luke Cage already established in our second Defenders series, many a rumor have spread over the absence of Iron Fist news. Now, Marvel boss Joe Quesada shoots down recent reports Iron Fist has been downgraded to a film, as well as the possibility of a Punisher extension.
Marvel has revealed a slate of new titles at a retailer summit in London ahead of this weekend's MCM Comic Con, including the long-touted second Iron Man book from Brian Michael Bendis, International Iron Man, which sees him reunited with his former Daredevil collaborator Alex Maleev.
Marvel also announced a new Punisher series from Becky Cloonan and Steve Dillon; a Nighthawk series from David F. Walker, with no artist named; and a Hyperion series from Chuck Wendig and Nik Virella, plus a digital first five-issue mini series, X-Men: The Worst X-Men Ever, from Max Bemis and Michael Walsh, which is not about Maggott and is therefore misleadingly named.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there’s no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we’re taking it upon ourselves to compile Top Five lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics.
Halloween is just over a week away, so this week we're counting down different comic renditions of the original literary monster, Frankenstein! Since the publication of Mary Shelley's novel in 1818, the story of the Modern Prometheus and his monster has been adapted into basically every other medium there is. While people probably known Frankenstein's monster best from Boris Karloff's portrayal in the Universal series of movies, the lurching metaphor for the consequences of man's hubris has been no slouch in comics either. Join us as we count down comics' five best portrayals and adaptations of Frankenstein.
We’ve seen Marvel’s Neflix Defenders plans grow beyond the initial 60-episode conception, including a second season for Daredevil and a backdoor inclusion of The Punisher, so might Marvel’s Moon Knight get in on the action? That’s the latest rumor of the day, suggesting one of Marvel’s upcoming series might introduce the character as a test for his own spinoff.
Marvel’s Daredevil gave fans in attendance of New York Comic-Con a quick glimpse at Season 2, including first looks at Elodie Yung’s Elektra and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, though those outside the Javits Center were firmly out of luck … until now! Like so many before, enough version of Netflix’s Daredevil Season 2 teaser made it online for a glorious, HD rendition to appear.
Last year’s New York Comic-Con brought us our first look at Marvel’s Netflix Daredevil, and while Jessica Jones understandably pulled some spotlight this year, Matt Murdock is back with some punishing new enemies. Find out what we saw in the first official Daredevil Season 2 footage from NYCC 2015!
You guys, the Punisher wears a tactleneck. That easily makes him the best-styled vigilante this side of Hell's Kitchen. Well, at least as far as the Sideshow Collectibles version of the character anyway. Sure, body armor is nice (and is included as an accessory to throw on), but when you're out there on the cold New York streets gunning down lawbreakers other heroes would merely hand over to the police, there's honestly no better way to do than in a tactleneck. That's just science.
Originally shown off at San Diego Comic-Con, the Punisher sixth-scale figure from Sideshow Collectibles got a more formal unveiling this week. I suppose it's just in time for New York Comic-Con, where the figure will likely be on display at the company's booth (which is nestled by Archie, IDW and WeLoveFine). Back in July, all we really knew about the figure was that it existed and looked impressive in prototype form. The new details shared today give us a much better idea of what to expect not just from the figure, but from Sideshow's Marvel 1/6 scale line in general, too.
With October just around the bend, that means it's time for cooler weather, cooler costumes and the biggest comic book convention on the east coast. Yes, New York Comic Con is bearing down on us faster than we're prepared to deal with it, but that's okay. We'll make do. In addition to incredible amount of stuff happening at the show, there will be a lot of great stuff up for grabs.
As busy as Funko was at San Diego Comic-Con, its plate looks to be equally as filled at NYCC this coming year. This week, Funko is unveiling all of its planned exclusive items, with a new batch coming every single day. While the availability of each is likely to be a bit more open than it was at SDCC, these things will still be limited. If you're hoping to get any, definitely plan ahead and around any and all panels you hope to make it to this year.
