Shadowman Returns In 'Divinity III: Shadowman' [Preview]
Shadowman had his own ongoing series with a new take on magic and mysticism early in Valiant's relaunch back in 2012, but after that title ended, he's been conspicuous by his absence. Now, with Divinity III rewriting the Valiant universe with a new history where the Soviet Union took over the world, the stage is set for Shadowman's return and a supernatural battle for the fate of New Stalingrad --- or as we might know it in this timeline, New York City. Check out a first look below!

Gilad Is Very Angry In 'Wrath Of The Eternal Warrior' #13
You know, one assumes that with a thousand lifetimes spent battling evil, Gilad Anni-Padda has probably had ample opportunity to get angry. But if you really want to see someone get mad, you should check out what they do when their first-born son is kidnapped by demons and taken to literal Hell. That's bound to provoke a pretty extreme reaction, and in Robert Venditti, Robert Gill, and Michael Spicer's Wrath of the Eternal Warrior, we're getting to see it for ourselves. Check out a preview of next week's issue below!

Take A Family Trip To Hell In 'Wrath Of The Eternal Warrior' #12
For Gilad, the Eternal Warrior, dying isn't really the problem, since he always comes back. But the last time he did, his first-born son wound up in the clutches of a demon prince named Humongous. That's tough to get around, especially since Gilad's only plan right now is to trade his (after)life for his son's and willingly submit to an eternity of torture. Things are starting to get pretty rough, and in Robert Venditti and Robert Gill's Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #12, it's only going to get worse.

Face The Dying One In 'Wrath Of The Eternal Warrior' #10 [Preview]
Listen: I kind of love The Dying One. I mean, of course I would, right? He's a supervillain who dedicated years - decades, even! - to building a massive underground labyrinth full of deathtraps that are designed explicitly for killing a man who literally cannot die. That's the kind of dedication I love in my antagonists. But then he had to go and ruin it. In next week's issue, as the Dying One finally comes face to face with the Eternal Warrior for bargaining and a fight to the death, he went and opened his big mouth and committed the ultimate sin: He talked smack about Ninjak. Obviously this cannot stand. Check out a preview (including this heinous act) and the start of Gilad's biggest throwdown yet below!

The Valiant Universe of 1,985 years in the future is an ever-more fascinating place. That's clearer than ever in 4001 A.D.: Shadowman #1, written by Jody Houser and Rafer Roberts, with art by Robert Gill and colors by Michael Spicer. It seems that there's a city on this future Earth occupied by the dead, a last outpost left behind from a war between the dead and the living. The city of the dead has been at peace with its human neighbors for centuries, but that piece is falling apart.

Valiant Announces Fifteen Exclusive Signings
Just earlier today, we speculated that we’d be seeing more announcements of exclusive contracts beyond those coming from DC Comics, and it seems that is the case, as Valiant Entertainment has announced a whopping fifteen exclusive deals in one fell swoop ahead of this weekend’s Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo.

Eternal Warrior Heads To North Carolina In 'Book Of Death'
As a resident of the Carolinas, I can tell you with pretty solid certainty that the only reason to drive through the wilderness of North Carolina is to get barbecue. That's where you find the really good stuff, those out of the way places where sometimes --- and this is actually true --- you just hand a man standing outside of a house a five dollar bill and he comes back with a bag full of food and you drive off without exchanging a single word. That's it, that's the only reason to ever drive around out there, although I'll admit that it's a pretty good one. Unfortunately, it seems that nobody told that to Gilad Anni-Padda, the Eternal Warrior, who is spending some time in the fourth issue of Valiant's Book of Death cruising around in a pickup truck --- and instead of Lexington-style vinegar-based BBQ, he's just getting some ominous prophecies about the end of the world.

The Transformed Man, Act 14: Dark Cybertron, Part One
I've never liked the Transformers. The franchise didn't get its hooks into me as a kid, and while I've tried to give it a shot as an adult, it never really clicked. But now, with a recommendation from almost everyone I know and a well-timed Humble Bundle sale that left me with three years worth (and counting) of IDW's More Than Meets The Eye and Robots In Disguise comics, I'm going on a quest to see if these comics can turn me from someone who has never cared at all about Optimus Prime into someone who uses words like "Cybertron" and "alt-mode" with alarming regularity. And Primus help me, it's working. This week, our two stories collide for "Dark Cybertron," a title that I can actually say without laughing. What is happening to me?

Evil All Around You: Robert Venditti Talks 'Book of Death'
When you think of the revived Valiant Comics, a few standout creators come to mind, and oe of those is certainly Robert Venditti, a writer who has been on board since the company came back to life in 2012. After taking the reins on last year's Armor Hunters event, Venditti is picking up the baton once again, along with artists Robert Gill and Doug Braithwaite, for Book of Death, a four-issue miniseries that explores the fallout from this spring's The Valiant and blasts ahead into an uncertain, dangerous future for the Valiant Universe, with excerpts from the titular book --- which comes from the future ---- playing a big part in each issue. After getting a sneak peek at the script for issue one, we spent a few minutes on the phone with Venditti to talk about whether his future for the Valiant U is concrete or fluid, the art of writing a comic script, the concept of a villain who can manipulate nature, whether trees can be threatening, and much more.

Valiant's 'Book of Death' to Skip Ahead To The End
While other superhero comics publishers are mining their pasts for big crossover events this spring and summer, Valiant is blasting ahead into the future, specifically, its characters' end times. The new, four-issue event series Book of Death, written by Robert Venditti and with art by Robert Gill and Doug Braithwaite, promises to reveal how characters including Ninjak, Bloodshot, X-O Manowar, Toyo Harada and others will bite it, be redeemed, be replaced, or otherwise change in the future.
