Dinosaurs are the New Superheroes: 10 Dino Comics for Hollywood
The success of Jurassic World means that superhero movies are over! Forever! Why, we wouldn't be surprised if Fantastic Four and Ant-Man went straight to DVD and studios pulled the plug on the dozens of superhero movies already in production. Dinosaurs are the new superheroes, and in the future we expect all big-budget, would-be blockbuster films to be dinosaur movies. Does this mean that comic books and graphic novels will lose their coveted place as the breeding ground for Hollywood's favorite source material? Not at all; there are plenty of dinosaur comics, ripe for film adaptation. Let's take a look at some of the more popular ones, and how likely it is that they may be coming to a theater near you... instead of Wonder Woman, Doctor Strange, or Justice League.

It’s always a toss-up who rules the realm of TV Comic-Con panels, between The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, though the shuffling zombies might outnumber White Walkers this year. Not only has AMC set panel plans for The Walking Dead Season 6, but so too will fans get a first look at Fear The Walking Dead with its own panel.

A couple of months ago, we learned that Paramount, along with producers Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg, hired Akiva Goldsman to head up a new Transformers brain trust, giving Goldsman creative control over the future of the franchise. Goldsman has just put together the writers' room for the upcoming sequels and spinoffs, and it’s…interesting. According to Deadline, Goldsman has wrangled The Walking Dead creator and Image Comics partner Robert Kirkman, Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Pacific Rim 2 writer Zak Penn and Jeff Pinkner, who’s written for Lost and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. That’s a bit of a mixed bag, but each writer has one thing in common (aside from being your average white dude): they’re all versed in large scale sci-fi.

AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead companion series will restart the zombie apocalypse in a few months’ time, but may not resemble the blood-spurting thriller we’re used to. New comments from its showrunner Dave Erickson and creator Robert Kirkman suggest that Fear the Walking Dead will traffic much more in family drama, scaling back the walkers to look more freshly human as well.

Image Expo Returns for Summer 2015
Image has confirmed today that it will be returning for another Image Expo this July, which will take place one week before San Diego Comic-Con. Typically the home for a deluge of announcements from a wealth of both billed and surprise guests from the world of comics, the Expos have become a widely anticipated part of the comics calendar --- not least because publisher Eric Stephenson usually offers a keynote speech in which he criticizes everybody else in comics. It's ace.
