A little over a month ago, Sideshow Collectibles announced a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles print based on a gauche painting by artist Paolo Rivera. The company teased there would be some statues to go along with it eventually, and today we have our first official look at the new line of four pieces inspired by Rivera's work. If you were wondering if they'd be able to capture the detail and style, these first prototype images sure make it look like they will. Things kick of with Leonardo, who is captured perched on a sewage pipe ready to lead the rest of the Turtles into battle with whatever poor soul dared venture beneath the New York City streets. While not based on any particular incarnation of the Turtles, Rivera's own interpretation looks terrific in sculpted form.

There's no shortage of Transformers collectibles out there, however if you're looking outside of Takara and Hasbro for anything beyond the standard fare, pickings are pretty slim. In recent years, more companies have been dabbling in larger-form figures and statues, and that's particularly true of Prime 1 Studio. While most of you might recall that name due to the company's outstanding Batman pieces, Prime 1 has also released a few movie-based Transformers statues. Your mileage may vary on what you think of the films and those designs, but Prime 1 did quite a number on bringing them to life. Now the company is taking its talents to the Generations branch, and its kicking things off with the Autobot leader, Optimus Prime. There are about a thousand ways to call something beautiful, and none of them are strong enough to fit for how amazing this new statue looks.

Sideshow Announces A Legendary $1250 Voltron Maquette
It seems that Voltron is going through something of a renaissance these days, or as I have decided to call it, a Voltronaissance. Not only is there a new animated series coming from Netflix that's set to update the original '80s animated series, but for those of you with a pile of cash and the desire to decorate your home with a very large statue of a robot made of robot lions, we have some very good news for you. This week, Sideshow Collectibles announced a new, highly detailed Voltron: Defender of the Universe maquette, and while it has the truly staggering price of $1250, I have to admit that it looks pretty awesome.

I'll give Prime 1 Studio credit. They are going all in on the Batman: Arkham Knight goods, and if you're a fan of that game and Rocksteady's designs for the Batman Universe, Prime 1 is leaving no stones unturned. DC Collectibles' efforts in the Arkham game arena were solid, but by working at such a large scale, Prime 1 is able to capture detail and likeness that you just can't get with smaller, more consumer friendly products. I mean, where else would you be able to get a statue of Harvey Dent where you could practically taste the rotten flesh and smell the burnt clothing of his Arkham universe incarnation. We've seen a lot of gnarly Two-Face figures and collectibles over the years, but this statue takes things to a whole new level of disgustingly cool detail.

You could probably be forgiven for thinking that Sideshow's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles "Premium Art Print" wasn't that big a deal. I mean, given that Sideshow is mostly known for their high-end action figures and collectibles, I spent the first few minutes after I saw this thing wondering why they were charging a hundred bucks for a photograph of a bunch of statues. But then I realized that it's not a photo at all, and is actually a brand new piece of art by the truly amazing Paolo Rivera, printed from an original oil painting. Check it out below!

Dagobah and Still I Wait For Yoda, and Now Hot Toys Has Delivered Him
Thirty-nine years ago, Star Wars hit movie theaters. The world hasn't been the same ever since. That's particularly true when considering the toy industry, which owes quite a bit to the legacy of Lucasfilm's epic. While Hot Toys' latest Star Wars sixth-scale figure comes from the 1980 sequel, The Empire Strikes Back, that doesn't mean its arrival has any less impact. As the wisest Jedi from the original trilogy, Yoda has a special place in many fans' hearts. He's had a number of toys over the past few decades, but none quite so detailed and intricate as this latest collectible from the Hong Kong company.

The Cosbaby figures for Captain America: Civil War were revealed a while back, but Hot Toys has a late addition joining the mix. Though mostly every company's early plans for toy tie-ins were absent Spider-Man, a number of company's got the green light to show off the new version of the webhead this past week. That includes Hot Toys, who has a special set of Team Iron Man Cosbaby figures coming that specifically spotlights the new Peter Parker. While we still have yet to see if Hot Toys will give Spidey his sixth-scale due any time soon, the Cosbaby version is a nice representation of the character. While all the Civil War Cosbaby toys have looked sharp, Spider-Man in particular stands out from the crowd. Part of that has to do with his costume being among the brightest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it's also due to the fact that his concept translates so well to the small body/big head format.

A fervent bunch, Deadpool fans don't particularly need to much reason to buy any of the mercenary's merchandise. Wade Wilson's fans show a devotion that's intense and impressive, while also being sometimes a bit weird. That suits though given Deadpool's own predilection for living right on the fringe of strangeness. For these folks, the new Hot Toys Deadpool Cosbaby collection is a no-brainer. I'll admit, even for someone who isn't all about the chimichangas, these these are so damn cute, it's hard not to start throwing money at the screen myself.

Bust Open the Wayne Trust Fund to Bring Home Prime 1's Batmobile
There have been a number of Batmobiles over the years, but those that have had arguably the biggest pop culture impact have been the cars in the Bat-garage of the televised '60s, the cinematic late '80s, and the animated '90s. Batman's cars have come and gone in the comics, but the one model nearly everyone remembers most is that from the Dark Knight Returns. More tank than car, the hulking monstrosity is part of one of DKR's more memorable sequences, and cuts an absolutely ridiculous silhouette. Though you could argue it at least partially inspired the Tumblr from the Christopher Nola Bat-films, the futuristic Batmobile definitely proved to be the basis for the version in Batman: Arkham Knight.

Prime 1's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Will Cost You a Radical Sum
Earlier this year we got a tease of Prime 1 Studio's plans for the 1990 cinematic classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but there had been little movement on the statues since then. The good news is, the collection of everyone's favorite amphibious heroes has a release date. The bad news is, it's going to cost you as much as 287 large, three-topping pizzas from Domino's. That's a lotta cheese.
