Marvel and Icon Comic Book Releases for June 2015 [Solicitations]

June Marvel Comic Releases
Marvel Comics

Courtesy of Marvel, ComicsAlliance brings you an advance look at new periodical comic books, collected editions and graphic novels going on sale in June 2015 (and in some cases beyond) from the publisher’s mainline Marvel Universe titles, its licensed properties, and the creator-owned label Icon.

June is going to open the floodgates for some unusual but potentially awesome comic reading thanks to Marvel's continuing Secret Wars line-wide overhaul. After the masses are done watching Avengers: Age of Ultron, we'll be able to see the same robotic army take on the legions of Marvel's undead in Age of Ultron Vs. Marvel Zombies #1, which could be the series' best crossover since Marvel Zombies vs. The Army of Darkness. Love could be in the air between Peter Quill and Shadowcat in Star-Lord and Kitty Pryde #1, but we have a feeling there's some kind of trickery going on. Stephen King fans will be able to see his magnum opus work continue in Dark Tower: The Drawing of the Three --- House of Cards #4, where we'll watch Roland Deschain and Eddie Dean continue to deal with The Prisoner.

Also keep an eye out for the new Batman Beyond, in which the Batman of the future no longer has old man Bruce to guide him, and the new We Are Robins series, featuring the teenagers of Gotham uniting under the banner of the Boy Wonder to fight crime. Exclusive: Titan Comics Unveils ‘Best of British’ Month in May [Video]

bestofbritish

As a Briton living overseas, I am always delighted to see people from the old country shamelessly milk their Britishness to sell themselves abroad. The more we ham it up, the more people seem to love it, as evidenced by Eddie Redmayne's Oscar win. So it's in that same glorious spirit that Titan Comics is playing up the "Downton Abbey and crumpets" angle for its May comics promotion, Best of British, featuring new and classic works from a roster of creators that includes Peter Milligan, Si Spurrier, Alan Martin, D'Israeli, and the late Brett Ewins. Check out the trailer above, debuting exclusively on ComicsAlliance.

All Of DC’s ‘Convergence’ Covers, Solicitations & Chip Kidd Variants For April In One Place

convergence_1-hed

DC's major springtime event this year sees all of the company's staff pack their belongings into boxes and ship them across country to Burbank. (Good luck!) While that's happening, all of the characters in DC's comics will be summoned to Battleworld by the Beyonder (or... close enough) for Convergence, a two-month pause in the company's New 52 publishing schedule, filled with a sort of nostalgia coleslaw of fresh chopped continuity from before Flashpoint, before Zero Hour, and before Crisis, with stories by Gail Simone, Greg Rucka, Keith Giffen, Nicola Scott, ChrisCross, Joshua Middleton, Jeff Parker, Bill Sienkiewicz, and many more.

All this week, DC has been unveiling covers for the first month of titles through various outlets. We've collected them here with the solicitation copy, so you can admire some fun throwback art -- including great pieces by Babs Tarr, Becky Cloonan, Steve Lieber, Pia Guerra, Jill Thompson, and Mike Allred -- and get out your Sharpie and use this as a checklist. (Tip: Don't draw directly on your screen.)
