I don't know if it's just this year, but it certainly feels like Hasbro is showing off a lot of its planned Toy Fair secrets a little early this year. Not that I'm not glad to see what's in store before the annual convention takes place next weekend. That goes double for any early peeks we're getting regarding Spider-Man: Homecoming. Though much of what's to come is still a closely guarded secret, Hasbro has revealed today four new figures coming to the Marvel Legends line under the Spider-Man banner. What's more, the figures aren't just all focused on the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler.

You can tell it's just about Toy Fair season because nearly every day this February has been filled with toy news of some kind. Hasbro might be leading the pack on that front, with a number of sneak peeks and previews of the upcoming Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black Series line-ups. Not that we're complaining at all, mind you. Getting an early look at the toys that will be stretching our wallets this year is always a nice treat. Especially when we're getting even more figures in the 3.75" arena. Announced this week, Hasbro will be releasing a number of Marvel Cinematic Universe two-packs, featuring some of our favorite characters from Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

There are few superhero movies we here at ComicsAlliance are looking forward to more than Spider-Man: Homecoming. After years of trying, it seems like Sony and Marvel may have finally found the right combination of elements to make this franchise enjoyable again. Fortunately, that means any tie-in merchandise is actually going to be worth tracking down. Or maybe I should say it's unfortunate because my wallet is going to be feeling the pain if this new Medicom MAFEX Spider-Man is any indication the kind of amazing figures we're going to get for this movie.

I'm not one to get my hopes up for a movie based on the tie-in toys, but dang it, Hasbro is putting out a Spider Racer vehicle that shoots Nerf darts as part of its Spider-Man: Homecoming plans, and now I'm hoping we get to see a Spider-Buggy of some sort in the movie. It's not going to happen. I know that. But the idea has been planted by these toys, and now it's all I want from this movie... aside from two hours of Tom Holland charming the pants off everyone in the theater. The Spider Racer is just one of a few Homecoming toys Hasbro has teased for the upcoming feature ahead of this year's Toy Fair. Want to know what else is in the works? The trailers for Spider-Man: Homecoming were just released last night, and in them we get to see our favorite web-slinger navigate the terrifying labyrinth that is high school. But Tom Holland is British and a celebrity, so he’d never been to high school in the U.S. before — until, that is, he started preparing for Homecoming. To really get into the deep, dark depths of the American teen psyche, Tom Holland did the only thing he could do: he enrolled in a real high school for three days, affected an accent, and pretended to be just a regular dude.

No sooner did we get our first official trailer for Spider-Man Homecoming did Hasbro roll out the first action figure from the upcoming Sony/Marvel Studios team-up. Spider-Man already got his debut in a special Marvel Legends Captain America: Civil War set with Iron Man and Captain America, so instead of just rehashing a new version of him (which will likely happen anyway), we're getting our first good look at the new Vulture from the rebooted franchise.

Two trailers, actually — the official domestic trailer and an international trailer with even more footage, featuring our first look at Michael Keaton’s Vulture, helpful life advice from Tony Stark, some fake Avengers, and all the awkward pain of high school.

First things first: You’re probably going to want to stay up a little past your usual bedtime tonight to check out the first full trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is set to premiere on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. We’ll have the trailer up around the same time with our thoughts, but until then, Sony and Marvel have revealed the first official image from their collaborative reboot effort, along with a few new story details and some intel on Michael Keaton’s villainous Vulture — he’s like Birdman, but scarier, somehow.

For a fresh start with Spider-Man, Sony had to give him something distinctive. To set Tom Holland’s take on the webslinger apart from Tobey Maguire’s (and way, way apart from Andrew Garfield’s), the studio sent the hero back to high school and returned him to his teenage roots. Spider-Man: Homecoming aims to be a new take on the comic-book mythos all over, in fact — a new girlfriend in pop star Zendaya, the first onscreen appearance of the villainous Vulture, and with a new teaser unearthed today, we learned that a key piece of latter-day Spidey tech will make it movie debut as well.
