The moment Supergirl confirmed that Season 2 would move to The CW, Vancouver production and all, fans knew that a star of Calista Flockhart’s pedigree wasn’t likely to travel along with it. So it was, that Cat Grant departed Season 2 after only a few episodes, but are there at least plans to check in on Kara’s mentor and former boss before Season 2 is out?

Now that The CW’s four-way “Invasion!” crossover is behind us, Flash and Supergirl fans have the two-part musical crossover to look forward to in 2017. Some wild rumors early on suggested Joss Whedon might direct the crossover with Neil Patrick Harris reprising a famous role, but the Unfortunate Events star doesn’t seem to know much of anything about it.

What may go down as one of the worst years in recent memory is slowly crawling to a close, and while we wish it good riddance and hope against hope that 2017 will be an improvement, there is some small solace in looking back over the year that's passed and figuring out what stuff from it was the best. That's right, it's "Best of..." list time, and today we're taking a look at the Best DC Covers of 2016.

Q: What is the definitive Christmas comic? — @Koltreg A: "Definitive" is a pretty tricky requirement to meet. You have to find a comic that's not just definitively Christmas, with all that goes along with it, it has to be definitively comics, too --- and if you think it's difficult for people to agree on what Christmas is all about, just wait'll you try getting them to pin down one single issue that defines comic books as a medium. At least religion has centuries of scholarship; comics just has loudmouths writing columns about them on the Internet. That said, I do think I've found one that's as close as we're going to get: 1989's Christmas With The Super-Heroes #2.

On Saturday December 3, 2016, an Indiana-based comics retail worker named Mary tweeted a story about an an encounter with a young Supergirl fan that made waves across the comics internet, reaching thousands of fans, as well as comic creators and the cast of the Supergirl TV show. ComicsAlliance caught up with Mary to talk about the state of LGBTQ representation in superhero comics, and to find out which books she would recommend to young readers.

Supergirl has already gifted us its spin on a few classic Superman tales, and now another memorable mischief-maker is targeting Kara’s return to National City. Prepare to copy and paste the name “Mister Mxyzptlk” a lot, as the infamously impish villain will make an appearance in Season 2.

The CW’s fourway crossover between Supergirl, Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow had enough material for five episodes, let alone three, so a few scenes understandably fell by the wayside. Among them, producers reveal two Supergirl-Legends connections we may explore in the future, and a deeper dive into the mysterious Dominators.

Now that the four-way crossover between Supergirl, Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow has come to an invasive close, the hunt begins for DC references and easter eggs! One moment in particular saw Brandon Routh referencing his own Superman Returns past, but don’t expect Supergirl to be let in on the joke just yet.

As the first and greatest superhero of them all, it only stands to reason that Superman would be leading the charge with some of the wildest and weirdest comics of the time. His amazing list of super-powers allowed him to have crazy adventures that many other characters couldn’t dream of having, but he also got strange new (but often very short-lived) powers to let the creators go even crazier with him.
