When comics artist Mike Wieringo died suddenly in 2007, the industry lost an extraordinary talent and a man who was well loved by many. While best known for his work on The Flash and Fantastic Four with writer Mark Waid, Wieringo also collaborated with writer Todd Dezago on a creator-owned series for Image called Tellos. The fantasy comic starred a young boy named Jarek, and his warrior tiger friend Koj, who shared adventures with a lady pirate, a fox thief, and other vivid characters. When Wieringo passed away, everyone assumed that we'd seen the last of Tellos. But now, a decade after Wieringo's death, Dezago and a group known as the Secret Friends of Ringo have published a massive two volume graphic novel in tribute to both Tellos and Wieringo.
