The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow mega-spinoff has come into a bit sharper focus with news that Arrow and The Flash will be laying ground for its premiere, but how deep into DC lore can the series get? Can we expect time-traveling fan-favorite Booster Gold? And who in the world is Franz Drameh’s Jay Jackson?

As if all The Flash’s timey-wimey travel and alternate universes weren’t already giving us headaches, the CW series has thrown yet another famous speedster into the mix. DC ‘Kid Flash’ Wally West will speed through Central City in Season 2, as portrayed by Insurgent star Keiynan Lonsdale.
Just yesterday, The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow awoke one of its heaviest hitters in casting Hawkman for the 2015 Arrow / Flash crossover, and so too has its opposing evil ridden. Danish actor Casper Crump will play the immortal role of DC’s Vandal Savage, also first appearing in the crossover special.
In case Mark Hamill’s “Tricksters” return didn’t drive the point home, our sleek, modern CW Flash has tremendous reverence for the old 1990 CBS series, finding a place for nearly all of its stars. That reverence just kicked into overdrive, as all of the original Flash series is now available to stream online with CW Seed.
A few weeks ago, fans learned the exciting DC news that not only would Hawkman join Ciara Renee’s Hawkgirl in 2016's Legends of Tomorrow, but also that we’d meet the character even earlier on either Arrow or The Flash. As it turns out, both! Reckless star Falk Hentschel will don Hawkman’s wings, first appearing as Carter Hall in the end-of-year crossover event.
Sporting a brand-new comic-friendly suit in Arrow Season 4, as well finally assuming the moniker of Green Arrow, Stephen Amell will take the CW character ever-closer to his DC roots by the fall return. That said, Amell hilariously refuted a suggestion that we’ll ever see The CW’s Oliver Queen sporting the comic character’s famous facial hair.
The moment DC’s Legends of Tomorrow entered development, Arrow fans scratched their heads at the inclusion of Caity Lotz’s (then-deceased) Sara Lance, before it became official that a Lazarus Pit would give birth to the “White Canary.” Now, we’ve learned that Arrow Season 4 will deal directly with Sara’s return first, building to a crossover event that leads into Legends of Tomorrow.
Arrow Season 4 stole a bit of spotlight from Comic-Con 2015 in introducing Oliver’s flashy new threads, but The Flash Season 2 better lives up to that description with an upgrade of his own. Barry Allen is rocking some classic white lightning for his Season 2 costume, but what might it mean for the speedy CW series?
For as much as Comic-Con 2015 and beyond revealed of Arrow Season 4, we don’t yet have the clearest picture what Oliver will be doing in flashback this year, other than the vague suggestion that the younger Mr. Queen will head to Green Lantern’s hometown of Coast City. The series has alluded to Green Lantern on a number of occasions, but is a Season 4 appearance really in the cards?
It’s been a week for DC castings, between Flash-y new additions and new Gotham love interests, and only hours after Arrow Season 4 added itself a Terrific new hero, so too will a new villain make anarchy reign. Bates Motel star Alexander Calvert will face off against the Green Arrow in Season 4, debuting in Star City as DC villain “Anarky.”
