The Flash

Flash fans are long-used to The CW’s take on the Scarlet Speedster’s duds, which themselves have been subject to minor tweaks through Seasons 2 and 3. Grant Gustin is certainly ready for the CW series to upgrade Barry Allen, but what timey-wimey troubles might prevent The Flash from altering its title hero’s look?

This week, the Flashes of two worlds take on Savitar, everyone gets their nog on, and Draco Malfoy gets his hands on a Philosopher's Stone. 'The Present' was directed by Rachel Talalay, from a story by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing, and a teleplay by Lauren Certo.

The Flash has only defined a select number of Earths outside of the 52 we know to exist, but tonight’s winter finale “The Present” will get us up to speed a bit more on Earth-3, home to John Wesley Shipp’s Jay Garrick. Our first clip also confirms that Mark Hamill will reprise his tricky role on that Earth, but as you’ll see, Barry and Jay have bigger problems.

This week, the Legends are caught up in the week-long "Invasion" crossover with Supergirl, The Flash, and Arrow. This climactic episode sees the heroes from all four shows developing a plan to defeat the alien invaders, the Dominators. The episode was directed by Gregory Smith. Phil Klemmer and Marc Guggenheim wrote the script from a story by Greg Berlanti.

The CW’s fourway crossover between Supergirl, Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow had enough material for five episodes, let alone three, so a few scenes understandably fell by the wayside. Among them, producers reveal two Supergirl-Legends connections we may explore in the future, and a deeper dive into the mysterious Dominators.

As the first and greatest superhero of them all, it only stands to reason that Superman would be leading the charge with some of the wildest and weirdest comics of the time. His amazing list of super-powers allowed him to have crazy adventures that many other characters couldn’t dream of having, but he also got strange new (but often very short-lived) powers to let the creators go even crazier with him. Some are weird, some are wacky, some are befuddling, but they’re all pretty fun, and the best part is this is just the teeniest, tiniest tip of the iceberg when it comes to Silver Age insanity.
