Toy Fair 2014: NECA Bringing Marvel And DC Characters To Its Scalers Line [Video]

NECA SCALERS main

Initially announced in October, NECA's new Scalers line is rolling out 2" miniature figures of characters like Gizmo, Gollum, Predator, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and a Xenomorph that are meant to hang on cords, cables, threads and other, well, scalables. The effect of the line was especially apparent at the NECA booth today at Toy Fair 2014, which contained a motorized wall that perpetually raised and lowered an assortment of the new toys as display versions of the upcoming second wave's Spider-Man and Batman Scalers watched on. Terror Drome Cobra KREO Hasbro Toy Fair 2014

G.I. Joe turns 50 this year, which means Hasbro's comprehensive toy plans may be just a little too big to simply tack onto the already sprawling Toy Fair 2014. In leiu of launching every single detail of its pending half-century milestone, for now it has comparatively conservatively unveiled a few new Toys "R" Us exclusive 3.75" action figure and vehicle assortments -- essentially redecos of iconic characters like Destro, Baroness, Snow Job and others -- plus new KRE-O building sets. The standout of the official image rollout so far is definitely the KRE-O Cobra Terror Drome, which recreates the 1980s G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero playset in loving, blocky detail, right down to all of the play features. You can check out some of Hasbro's upcoming G.I. Joe toys, along with official product info, after the jump.

Though we got a look at the first wave earlier this year, it seems Hasbro was waiting for Toy Fair 2014 to reveal its fuller plans for the 3.75" Marvel Infinite line. Wave two will include re-issues of Beta Ray Bill, Yellowjacket and Steve Rogers, plus all-new versions of Death's Head, Red She-Hulk, Thor and Whirlwind. As for wave three? It's not fully fleshed out yet, but so far looks to include Ares, Deathlok (the rad zombie cyborg one, not the handsome Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. one and an Ionic Wonderman. We'll have more images of these toys in the wild later when we visit the Hasbro installation at Toy Fair, but for now you can see official product images of all three waves -- including some carded images -- after the cut.
