Every month, Comixology adds more titles to its burgeoning all-you-can-eat subscription service Comixology Unlimited, which allows readers access to a virtual library of comics for a flat monthly fee. February’s update goes live today, and the service is set to be bolstered by a new wave of awesome comics for you to peruse, including Danger Girl, Harbinger Wars and Lady Snowblood.

Comics are too expensive, and run for too long, and are basically evil super operas that cost a dollar for every half second we read them. You can't miss an issue, or else you're out of the loop for it all, but that also means that almost nothing happens in each comic, so you might as well wait for the graphic novel collection, but oh wait, if you do that it increases the odds of the comic being cancelled! Comics are great, but also completely broken. That's where Fell should have come in.

In the 1990s, Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson foresaw a future of twisted behavior, renegade politics, and uncontrollable technology in Transmetropolitan. We're revisiting the series book by book, because in a time of unrest and uncertainty we could all use some Filthy Assistance. In book two, Lust For Life, the world is brought into sharper relief as the new and the old crash into each other repeatedly, leaving our characters dealing with the fallout. Spider Jerusalem also confronts assassins putting a hit on his life as part of a convoluted scheme tied up in a messy divorce --- in a storyline that may go a bit too far...

Blood Blister, the new horror comic from writer Phil Hester and artist Tony Harris debuting this week from AfterShock, tells the story of Brandon Hull, a man whose soul becomes so corrupted by the banal evil of the superficial choices he makes that it begins to manifest on his previously flawless physical form, launching him into a hellish world of monstrous evil. Hester is also currently drawing Shipwreck, an AfterShock comic by writer Warren Ellis about a man who finds himself in a surreal wasteland after (possibly) surviving a crash. ComicsAlliance sat down with Phil Hester to talk about horror, collaborating on comics as both a writer and an artist, and the nature of evil in the world today.

It’s the end of the year! We’ve made it through 2016, a year of departures, returns, arrivals, civil wars, and young animals. What's going on in Shipwreck? Jonathan Shipwright doesn't really know, he's just traveling this endless road that's risen up to meet him since the mysterious shipwreck he was involved in. And in this preview, he meets a man who's just finished burying a body in the sky.

In the late '90s and early '00s, Warren Ellis helped reinvent Wildstorm Comics for the 21st century with runs on titles such as Stormwatch, The Authority and Planetary. The imprint and its characters were folded into the regular DC Universe as part of The New 52, but next year DC is setting them up in their own corner of the publishing line once again, with Ellis taking control as the curator of a new "pop-up" imprint similar to Gerard Way's Young Animal.
