Last week the UK's Titan Publishing announced that it was forming Titan Comics, a new imprint devoted to publishing original creator-owned titles. That announcement was followed by news that Titan Comics would team with Atomeka Press to revive the well-regarded A1 anthology. Now comes news that, starting in May 2013, Titan Comics will be publishing Solid State Tank Girl, a new four-issue miniseries written by Tank Girl co-creator Alan Martin, with art from Warwick Johnson Cadwell.

From the Titan Comics press release:

Tank Girl, Jet Girl, Booga and Barney are back and on a mission to save their favourite little radio store. Things are going according to plan, too, but somewhere along the line Booga manages to electronically summon the gang's evil counterparts, fronted by the darkest bitch on the planet – ANTI-TANK GIRL! The fight is to the death, as each gang member draws on their deepest, most screwed-up powers to eliminate their own personal nemesis. Things are about to get very dark, very bloody... and very stupid!

This will mark the first major work for Cadwell, whose art we've previously highlighted on ComicsAlliance. His style certainly fits the aesthetic of the world Martin and co-creator Jamie Hewlett previously established in Tank Girl. Cadwell follows in the footsteps of other popular artists who have taken a turn on Tank Girl, including Ashley Wood, Philip Bond, Rufus Dayglo, Jim Mahfood and more.

Solid State Tank Girl #1 will be available May 15th in your local comic store, and digitally from Comixology.
