Announced late last year, Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is the fan-favorite developer's first attempt at crafting an episodic adventure in the Marvel Universe. It's not the first game from Telltale to take place in space, nor is it the first Telltale game based on a movie, but it is the first to have a talking raccoon and tree. So there's that.

While details have been slim since the announcement teaser, ahead of PAX East Telltale Games has released the first batch of official screenshots from the upcoming game. What's more, Telltale's also revealed the voice cast behind our favorite space-faring heroes.

Telltale's Guardians game will be an original story, which features the gang uncovering an ancient artifact that each member of the team covets for different reasons. They aren't the only ones who desire it though, as the last surviving member of an alien race also has her eyes on the prize. The who and what aside from the core team might be unknown right now, but we do know the adventure will take them from Earth to Knowhere and beyond.

Behind all the familiar faces you've come to know from Marvel's cinematic universe are a set of different voices --- though anyone familiar with any of Telltale's previous games will certainly have an inside line on the cast. Scott Porter --- yes the man formerly known as QB1 and Nightwing --- will portray Star-Lord; Emily O'Brien will be keeping everyone in check as Gamora; Nolan North will offer dangerous witticisms as Rocket Raccoon; Brandon Paul Eells will literally voice Drax; and Adam Harrington will offer the three words everyone in the world hopes to hear said to them one day, "I am Groot."

The first crowd-play session of the initial chapter for Guardians of the Galaxy will happen at SXSW on March 17. Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is set to release this spring on just about every platform conceivable to the human spectrum.
